أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي بُكَيْرُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ يَعْمَرَ الدِّيلِيَّ، قَالَ: شَهِدْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَرَفَةَ وَأَتَاهُ نَاسٌ مِنْ نَجْدٍ، فَأَمَرُوا رَجُلًا فَسَأَلَهُ عَنِ الْحَجِّ ؟، فَقَالَ: الْحَجُّ عَرَفَةُ، مَنْ جَاءَ لَيْلَةَ جَمْعٍ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ، فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ حَجَّهُ أَيَّامُ مِنًى ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ، مَنْ تَعَجَّلَ فِي يَوْمَيْنِ فَلَا إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ وَمَنْ تَأَخَّرَ فَلَا إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ أَرْدَفَ رَجُلًا، فَجَعَلَ يُنَادِي بِهَا فِي النَّاسِ.
عبدالرحمٰن بن یعمر دیلی کہتے ہیں کہ میں عرفہ میں نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس موجود تھا۔ آپ کے پاس نجد سے کچھ لوگ آئے تو انہوں نے ایک شخص کو حکم دیا، تو اس نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے حج کے بارے میں پوچھا، آپ نے فرمایا: ”حج عرفہ ( میں وقوف ) ہے، جو شخص مزدلفہ کی رات میں صبح کی نماز سے پہلے عرفہ آ جائے، تو اس نے اپنا حج پا لیا۔ منیٰ کے دن تین دن ہیں، تو جو دو ہی دن قیام کر کے چلا جائے تو اس پر کوئی گناہ نہیں ہے، اور جو تاخیر کرے اور تیرہویں کو بھی رکے تو اس پر بھی کوئی گناہ نہیں ہے“۔ پھر آپ نے ایک شخص کو اپنے پیچھے سواری پر بٹھا لیا، جو لوگوں میں اسے پکار پکار کر کہنے لگا۔
Abdur Rahman bin Yamur Ad-Daili said: I saw the prophet in Arafat when some people from Najd coame to him. They told a man to ask him about Hajj. He said: Hajj is Arafat. Whoever comes on the night of Jam (Al-Muzdalifah) before Subh prayer, then he has caought up with Hajj. And the days of Mina are three days. But whoever hastens to leave in two days, there is no sion on him, and whoever stays on, there is no sino on him.' Then he made a man ride behind him, and he started proclaiming it to the people.

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Abbas: Al-Fadl (his brother) was riding behind Allah's Apostle and a woman from the tribe of Khath'am came and Al-Fadl started looking at her and she started looking at him. The Prophet turned Al-Fadl's face to the other side. The woman said, O Allah's Apostle! The obligation of Hajj enjoined by Allah on His devotees has become due on my father and he is old and weak, and he cannot sit firm on the Mount; may I perform Hajj on his behalf? The Prophet replied, Yes, you may. That happened during the Hajj-al-Wida (of the Prophet ).
