أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاق، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَرْعَرَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً دَخَلَتْ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ وَبِيَدِهَا عُكَّازٌ، فَقَالَتْ: مَا هَذَا ؟ فَقَالَتْ: لِهَذِهِ الْوَزَغِ، لِأَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ شَيْءٌ إِلَّا يُطْفِئُ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام، إِلَّا هَذِهِ الدَّابَّةُ، فَأَمَرَنَا بِقَتْلِهَا، وَنَهَى عَنْ قَتْلِ الْجِنَّانِ، إِلَّا ذَا الطُّفْيَتَيْنِ وَالْأَبْتَرَ، فَإِنَّهُمَا يَطْمِسَانِ الْبَصَرَ، وَيُسْقِطَانِ مَا فِي بُطُونِ النِّسَاءِ .
تابعی سعید بن مسیب سے روایت ہے کہ ایک عورت ام المؤمنین عائشہ کے پاس آئی، اور ان کے ہاتھ میں لوہے کی پھلی لگی ہوئی لاٹھی تھی، اس عورت نے پوچھا: یہ کیا ہے؟ کہا: یہ ان چھپکلیوں ( کے مارنے ) کے لیے ہے۔ اس لیے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں بتایا ہے کہ ابراہیم علیہ السلام کی آگ کو اس جانور کے سوا سبھی جانور بجھاتے تھے اسی وجہ سے آپ نے ہمیں اسے مارنے کا حکم دیا ہے۔ اور گھروں میں رہنے والے سانپ کے مارنے سے روکا ہے سوائے دو دھاریوں والے، اور دم بریدہ سانپ کے کیونکہ یہ دونوں بصارت کو زائل کر دیتے ہیں، اور حاملہ عورت کا حمل گرا دیتے ہیں۔
It was narrated from Saeed bin Al-Musayyab that: a woman enter upon Aishah, and in her hand was an iron-footed stick. She said: What is this? she (Aishah) Said: It is for these geckos, because the Prophet of Allah told us, that there was nothing that did not try to extinguish the fire for Ihram except for this animals, so he told us to kill it. And he forbade us to kill harmless snakes, except for the snake with two lines on its back, and the snake with a short tail, for the snatch away the eyesight and cause tat which is in women's wombs to be miscarried.

Hadith 1513
Narrated `Abdullah bin `Abbas: Al-Fadl (his brother) was riding behind Allah's Apostle and a woman from the tribe of Khath'am came and Al-Fadl started looking at her and she started looking at him. The Prophet turned Al-Fadl's face to the other side. The woman said, O Allah's Apostle! The obligation of Hajj enjoined by Allah on His devotees has become due on my father and he is old and weak, and he cannot sit firm on the Mount; may I perform Hajj on his behalf? The Prophet replied, Yes, you may. That happened during the Hajj-al-Wida (of the Prophet ).
