The Book of Hajj

ابو جعفر محمد بن علی باقر کہتے ہیں کہ   ہم جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما کے پاس آئے، اور ہم نے ان سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے حج کے متعلق پوچھا، تو انہوں نے ہم سے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نو سال تک مدینہ میں رہے پھر لوگوں میں اعلان کیا گیا کہ امسال رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم حج کو جانے والے ہیں، تو بہت سارے لوگ مدینہ آ گئے، سب یہ چاہتے تھے کہ وہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی اقتداء کریں اور وہی کریں جو آپ کرتے ہیں۔ تو جب ذی قعدہ کے پانچ دن باقی رہ گئے تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم حج کے لیے نکلے اور ہم بھی آپ کے ساتھ نکلے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہمارے درمیان تھے آپ پر قرآن اتر رہا تھا اور آپ اس کی تاویل ( تفسیر ) جانتے تھے اور جو چیز بھی آپ نے کی ہم نے بھی کی۔ چنانچہ ہم نکلے ہمارے پیش نظر صرف حج تھا۔

Ja`far bin Muhammad said: My father told me: 'We came to Jabir bin `Abdullah and asked him about the Hajj of the Prophet (ﷺ). He told us: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stayed in al-Madinah for nine years of Hajj, then it was announced to the people that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was going to perform Hajj this year. Many people came to al-Madinah, all of them hoping to learn from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and to do as he did. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) set out when there were five days left of Dhul-Qa`dah, and we set out with him,: Jabir said; And the Messenger of Allah was among us; the Qur'an was being revealed to him, and he knew what it meant. Whatever he did based on it (the Qur'an), we did, and we set out with no intention other than Hajj.
