أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُفْتِي بِالْمُتْعَةِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: رُوَيْدَكَ بِبَعْضِ فُتْيَاكَ فَإِنَّكَ لَا تَدْرِي مَا أَحْدَثَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي النُّسُكِ بَعْدُ، حَتَّى لَقِيتُهُ فَسَأَلْتُهُ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ فَعَلَهُ، وَلَكِنْ كَرِهْتُ أَنْ يَظَلُّوا مُعَرِّسِينَ بِهِنَّ فِي الْأَرَاكِ، ثُمَّ يَرُوحُوا بِالْحَجِّ تَقْطُرُ رُءُوسُهُمْ .
ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ وہ تمتع کا فتویٰ دیتے تھے، تو ایک شخص نے ان سے کہا: آپ اپنے بعض فتاوے کو ملتوی رکھیں ۱؎ آپ کو امیر المؤمنین ( عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ ) نے اس کے بعد حج کے سلسلے میں جو نیا حکم جاری کیا ہے وہ معلوم نہیں، یہاں تک کہ میں ان سے ملا، اور میں نے ان سے پوچھا، تو عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: مجھے معلوم ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایسا کیا ہے، لیکن میں یہ اچھا نہیں سمجھتا کہ لوگ «اراک» میں اپنی بیویوں سے ہمبستر ہوں، پھر وہ صبح ہی حج کے لیے اس حال میں نکلیں کہ ان کے سروں سے پانی ٹپک رہا ہو۔
It was narrated that Abu Musa said that: he used to issue Fatwas concerning Tamattu' Then a man said to him: Withhold some of your Fatwas ,for you do not know what the commander of the Believers introduced into the rites subsequently. Then when I met him, I asked him. 'Umar said: I know that the Messenger of Allah and his companions did it, but I did not like that people should lay with their wives in the shade of the Arak trees, and then go out for Hajj with their heads dripping.

Hadith 1513
Narrated `Abdullah bin `Abbas: Al-Fadl (his brother) was riding behind Allah's Apostle and a woman from the tribe of Khath'am came and Al-Fadl started looking at her and she started looking at him. The Prophet turned Al-Fadl's face to the other side. The woman said, O Allah's Apostle! The obligation of Hajj enjoined by Allah on His devotees has become due on my father and he is old and weak, and he cannot sit firm on the Mount; may I perform Hajj on his behalf? The Prophet replied, Yes, you may. That happened during the Hajj-al-Wida (of the Prophet ).
