أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ وَصَفَتْ عَائِشَةُ غُسْلَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ يَغْسِلُ يَدَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ يُفِيضُ بِيَدِهِ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى الْيُسْرَى فَيَغْسِلُ فَرْجَهُ وَمَا أَصَابَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ عُمَرُ:‏‏‏‏ وَلَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يُفِيضُ بِيَدِهِ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى الْيُسْرَى ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ يَتَمَضْمَضُ ثَلَاثًا وَيَسْتَنْشِقُ ثَلَاثًا وَيَغْسِلُ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ يُفِيضُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلَاثًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ يَصُبُّ عَلَيْهِ الْمَاءَ .

ابوسلمہ بن عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف زہری کہتے ہیں کہ   ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے غسل جنابت کا طریقہ بیان کیا، کہتی ہیں کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اپنے دونوں ہاتھ تین بار دھوتے، پھر اپنے داہنے ہاتھ سے بائیں ہاتھ پر پانی ڈال کر اپنی شرمگاہ اور اس پر لگی ہوئی نجاست دھوتے، عمر بن عبید کہتے ہیں: میں یہی جانتا ہوں کہ انہوں نے  ( عطا بن سائب )  کہا: آپ اپنے داہنے ہاتھ سے بائیں ہاتھ پر تین بار پانی ڈالتے، پھر تین بار کلی کرتے، تین بار ناک میں پانی ڈالتے، اور تین بار اپنا چہرہ دھوتے، پھر تین بار اپنے سر پر پانی بہاتے، پھر اپنے اوپر پانی ڈالتے ۱؎۔

It was narrated that Abu Salamah bin 'Abdur-Rahman said: Aishah described how the Prophet (ﷺ) performed Ghusl for Janabah. She said: 'He used to wash his hands three times, then pour water with his right hand onto his left and wash his private part and whatever was on it.' - (One of the narrators) 'Umar said: I think he said: 'He would pour water with his right hand onto his left hand three times.' - Then he would rinse his mouth three times and his nose three times, and wash his face and hands three times, then he would pour water over his head three times, then pour water over himself.'

It was narrated from Abu Burdah that Abu Musa said: I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) when he was using the Siwak and with me were two men of the Ash'aris - one on my right and the other on my left - who were seeking to be appointed as officials. I said: 'By the One Who sent you as a Prophet with the truth, they did not tell me why they wanted to come with me and I did not realize that they were seeking to be appointed as officials.' And I could see his Siwak beneath his lip, then it slipped and he said: 'We do not' - or; 'We will never appoint as an official anyone who seeks that. Rather you should go.' So he sent his (Abu Musa) to Yemen, then he sent Mu'adh bin Jabal to go after him - may Allah be pleased with them.

Abdur-Rahman bin Abu 'Atiq said: My father told me: 'I heard 'Aishah say, (narrating) from the Prophet (ﷺ): Siwak is a means of purification for the mouth and is pleasing to the Lord.
