أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ آدَمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هِشَامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَفَ عَلَى قَلِيبِ بَدْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَلْ وَجَدْتُمْ مَا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّهُمْ لَيَسْمَعُونَ الْآنَ مَا أَقُولُ لَهُمْ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِعَائِشَةَ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ وَهِلَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ،‏‏‏‏ إِنَّمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّهُمُ الْآنَ يَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ الَّذِي كُنْتُ أَقُولُ لَهُمْ هُوَ الْحَقُّ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَرَأَتْ قَوْلَهُ إِنَّكَ لا تُسْمِعُ الْمَوْتَى سورة النمل آية 80 حَتَّى قَرَأَتِ الْآيَةَ.

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بدر کے کنویں پہ کھڑے ہوئے ( اور ) فرمایا: ”کیا تم نے اپنے رب کے وعدہ کو صحیح پایا؟“ ( پھر ) آپ نے فرمایا: ”اس وقت جو کچھ میں ان سے کہہ رہا ہوں اسے یہ لوگ سن رہے ہیں“، تو ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے ذکر کیا گیا، تو انہوں نے کہا: ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے بھول ہوئی ہے، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ( یوں ) کہا تھا: ”یہ لوگ اب خوب جان رہے ہیں کہ جو میں ان سے کہتا تھا وہ سچ تھا“، پھر انہوں نے اللہ کا قول پڑھا: «إنك لا تسمع الموتى» ( النمل: ۸۰ ) یہاں تک کہ پوری آیت پڑھی۔

it was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet stood at the well of Badr and said: Have you found what your Lord promised to be true? he said: They can hear what I am saying to them now . Mention of that was made to 'Aishah and she said: Ibn 'Umar is mistaken. Rather the Messenger of Allah said: Ibn 'Umar is mistaken. Rather the Messenger of Allah said: 'Now they know that what I used to say to them is the truth.' Then she recited: So verily, you (O Muhammad) cannot make the dead to hear., until she recited the verse.

It was narrated form Anas that the Messenger of Allah said: None of you should wish for death because of some harm that befalls him, rather he should say: 'Allahumma ahini ma kanatil-hayatu khairanli wa tawaffani idha kanatil-wafatu khairanli (O Allah, keep me alive so alive so long as life is good for me, and cause me to die when death is good for me.) '

Whoever insists on praying for it let him say: Allahumma ahini ma kanatil-hayatu khairanli wa tawaffani idha kanatil-wafatu khairanli (O Allah, keep me alive so long as life is good for me, and cause me to die when death is good for me.) '
