أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْقَطَّانُ الرَّقِّيُّ، قال: حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، قال ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرًا، يَقُولُ: خَطَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَذَكَرَ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ مَاتَ فَقُبِرَ لَيْلًا وَكُفِّنَ فِي كَفَنٍ غَيْرِ طَائِلٍ، فَزَجَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُقْبَرَ إِنْسَانٌ لَيْلًا إِلَّا أَنْ يُضْطَرَّ إِلَى ذَلِكَ .
جابر بن عبداللہ رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ ۔ ( ایک بار ) رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے خطاب فرمایا ( آپ نے اس میں ) اپنے اصحاب میں سے ایک شخص کا ذکر کیا جو مر گیا تھا، اسے رات ہی میں دفنا دیا گیا، اور ایک گھٹیا کفن میں کفنایا گیا، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے سختی سے منع فرما دیا کہ کوئی رات میں دفنایا جائے، سوائے اس کے کہ وہ اس کے لیے مجبور کر دیا جائے۔
Jabir said: The Messenger of Allah delivered a Khutbah and mentioned a man among his Companions who had died and had been buried at night in a shroud that was not sufficient. The Messenger of Allah reprimanded them, telling them not to bury a person at night except in cases of emergency.
