أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ، أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ، أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ عَائِشَةَ وَذُكِرَ لَهَا، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، يَقُولُ: إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ لَيُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ الْحَيِّ عَلَيْهِ ، قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: يَغْفِرُ اللَّهُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَكْذِبْ وَلَكِنْ نَسِيَ أَوْ أَخْطَأَ، إِنَّمَا مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى يَهُودِيَّةٍ يُبْكَى عَلَيْهَا، فَقَالَ: إِنَّهُمْ لَيَبْكُونَ عَلَيْهَا وَإِنَّهَا لَتُعَذَّبُ .
عمرہ سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے سنا جب ان کے سامنے اس بات کا ذکر کیا گیا کہ عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں: میت کو زندوں کے رونے کی وجہ سے عذاب دیا جاتا ہے، تو عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا: اللہ تعالیٰ ابوعبدالرحمٰن کی مغفرت کرے، سنو! انہوں نے جھوٹ اور غلط نہیں کہا ہے، بلکہ وہ بھول گئے انہیں غلط فہمی ہوئی ہے ( اصل بات یہ ہے ) رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ایک یہودیہ عورت ( کی قبر ) کے پاس سے گزرے جس پر ( اس کے گھر والے ) رو رہے تھے، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یہ لوگ اس پر رو رہے ہیں اور اسے عذاب دیا جا رہا ہے ۔
It was narrated from 'Amrah that she heard 'Aishah say: , when she was told that Ibn 'Umar said that the deceased is punished due to the weeping of the living for him, 'Aishah said: May Allah forgive Abu 'Abdur-Rahman; he is not lying, but he has forgotten or made a mistake. The Messenger of Allah passed by a (deceased) Jewish woman for whom people were weeping and he said: 'They are weeping for her and she is being punished. '

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: None of you should wish for death. Either he is a doer of good, so perhaps he may do more good, or he is an evildoer but perhaps he will give up his evil ways.
