حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ فَارِسٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْمُقْرِئُ. ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد وَأَنَا لِحَدِيثِ ابْنِ يَحْيَى أَتْقَنُ، عَنْ غُطَيْفٍ، وَقَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ، عَنْ أَبِي غُطَيْفٍ الْهُذَلِيِّ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، فَلَمَّا نُودِيَ بِالظُّهْرِ تَوَضَّأَ فَصَلَّى، فَلَمَّا نُودِيَ بِالْعَصْرِ تَوَضَّأَ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: فَقَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ عَلَى طُهْرٍ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ عَشْرَ حَسَنَاتٍ ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد: وَهَذَا حَدِيثُ مُسَدَّدٍ، وَهُوَ أَتَمُّ.
ابوغطیف ہذلی کہتے ہیں کہ میں عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کے پاس تھا، جب ظہر کی اذان ہوئی تو آپ نے وضو کر کے نماز پڑھی، پھر عصر کی اذان ہوئی تو دوبارہ وضو کیا، میں نے ان سے پوچھا ( اب نیا وضو کرنے کا کیا سبب ہے؟ ) انہوں نے کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فرمایا کرتے تھے: جو شخص وضو پر وضو کرے گا اللہ اس کے لیے دس نیکیاں لکھے گا ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: یہ مسدد کی روایت ہے اور یہ زیادہ مکمل ہے۔
Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: Abu Ghutayf al-Hudhali reported: I was in the company of Ibn Umar. When the call was made for the noon (zuhr) prayer, he performed ablution and said the prayer. When the call for the afternoon (Asr) prayer was made, he again performed ablution. Thus I asked him (about the reason of performing ablution). He replied: The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: For a man who performs ablution in a state of purity, ten virtuous deeds will be recorded (in his favour). Abu Dawud said: This is the tradition narrated by Musaddad, and it is more perfect.

Abu al-Tayyah reported on the authority of a shaykh (an old man): When Abdullah ibn Abbas came to Basrah, people narrated to him traditions from Abu Musa. Therefore Ibn Abbas wrote to him asking him about certain things. In reply Abu Musa wrote to him saying: One day I was in the company of theMessenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم. He wanted to urinate. Then he came to a soft ground at the foot of a wall and urinated. He (the Prophet) then said: If any of you wants to urinate, he should look for a place (like this) for his urination.
