حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ زَبْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ مِشْكَمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: إِنَّا نُجَاوِرُ أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ، وَهُمْ يَطْبُخُونَ فِي قُدُورِهِمُ الْخِنْزِيرَ، وَيَشْرَبُونَ فِي آنِيَتِهِمُ الْخَمْرَ ؟، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنْ وَجَدْتُمْ غَيْرَهَا فَكُلُوا فِيهَا وَاشْرَبُوا، وَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدُوا غَيْرَهَا فَارْحَضُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ وَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا .
ابوثعلبہ خشنی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سوال کیا کہا: ہم اہل کتاب کے پڑوس میں رہتے، وہ اپنی ہانڈیوں میں سور کا گوشت پکاتے ہیں اور اپنے برتنوں میں شراب پیتے ہیں تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اگر تمہیں ان کے علاوہ برتن مل جائیں تو ان میں کھاؤ پیئو، اور اگر ان کے علاوہ برتن نہ ملیں تو انہیں پانی سے دھو ڈالو پھر ان میں کھاؤ اور پیو ۔
Abu Thalabah al-khushani said that he asked the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم: We live in the neighbourhood of the People of the Book and they cook in their pots (the flesh of) swine and drink wine in their vessels. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: If you find any other pots, then eat in them and drink. But if you do not find any others, then wash them with water and eat and drink (In them).
