حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي حَرْبِ بْنِ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ، فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ مَا لَمْ يَطْعَمْ زَادَ، قَالَ قَتَادَةُ: هَذَا مَا لَمْ يَطْعَمَا الطَّعَامَ، فَإِذَا طَعِمَا غُسِلَا جَمِيعًا.
اس سند سے علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے یہ حدیث نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے نقل کی ہے، پھر ہشام نے اسی مفہوم کی حدیث ذکر کی اور اس میں انہوں نے «ما لم يطعم» ( جب تک کھانا نہ کھائے ) کا ذکر نہیں کیا، اس میں انہوں نے اضافہ کیا ہے کہ قتادہ نے کہا: یہ حکم اس وقت کا ہے جب وہ دونوں کھانا نہ کھاتے ہوں، اور جب کھانا کھانے لگیں تو دونوں کا پیشاب دھویا جائے گا۔
Ali bin Abi Talib reported the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as saying: He narrated the tradition to the same effect, but he did not mention the words until the age of eating . This version adds: Qatadah said: This is valid until the time they do not eat food; when they begin to eat, their urine should be washed.

Abu al-Tayyah reported on the authority of a shaykh (an old man): When Abdullah ibn Abbas came to Basrah, people narrated to him traditions from Abu Musa. Therefore Ibn Abbas wrote to him asking him about certain things. In reply Abu Musa wrote to him saying: One day I was in the company of theMessenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم. He wanted to urinate. Then he came to a soft ground at the foot of a wall and urinated. He (the Prophet) then said: If any of you wants to urinate, he should look for a place (like this) for his urination.
