حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ضَمُرَةُ، عَنْ السَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الدَّيْلَمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، قَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَنْ نَحْنُ وَمِنْ أَيْنَ نَحْنُ، فَإِلَى مَنْ نَحْنُ ؟، قَالَ: إِلَى اللَّهِ وَإِلَى رَسُولِهِ، فَقُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ لَنَا أَعْنَابًا مَا نَصْنَعُ بِهَا ؟، قَالَ: زَبِّبُوهَا، قُلْنَا: مَا نَصْنَعُ بِالزَّبِيبِ ؟، قَالَ: انْبِذُوهُ عَلَى غَدَائِكُمْ وَاشْرَبُوهُ عَلَى عَشَائِكُمْ، وَانْبِذُوهُ عَلَى عَشَائِكُمْ وَاشْرَبُوهُ عَلَى غَدَائِكُمْ، وَانْبِذُوهُ فِي الشِّنَانِ وَلَا تَنْبِذُوهُ فِي الْقُلَلِ، فَإِنَّهُ إِذَا تَأَخَّرَ عَنْ عَصْرِهِ صَارَ خَلًّا .
دیلمی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے اور ہم نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! آپ کو معلوم ہے کہ ہم کون ہیں اور کہاں سے آئے ہیں، لیکن کس کے پاس آئے ہیں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اللہ اور اس کے رسول کے پاس پھر ہم نے عرض کیا: اے رسول اللہ! ہمارے یہاں انگور ہوتا ہے ہم اس کا کیا کریں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اسے خشک لو ہم نے عرض کیا: اس زبیب ( سوکھے ہوئے انگور ) کو کیا کریں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: صبح کو اسے بھگو دو، اور شام کو پی لو، اور جو شام کو بھگوؤ اسے صبح کو پی لو اور چمڑوں کے برتنوں میں اسے بھگویا کرو، مٹکوں اور گھڑوں میں نہیں کیونکہ اگر نچوڑنے میں دیر ہو گی تو وہ سرکہ ہو جائے گا ۱؎ ۔
Narrated Ad-Daylami: We came to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم and said to him: Messenger of Allah, you know who we are, from where we are and to whom we have come. He said: To Allah and His Messenger. We said: Messenger of Allah, we have grapes; what should we do with them? He said: Make them raisins. We then asked: What should we do with raisins? He replied: Steep them in the morning and drink in the evening, and steep them in the evening and drink in the morning. Steep them in skin vessels and do not steep them in earthen jar, for it it is delayed in pressing, it becomes vinegar.

Hadith 3669
Umar said: The prohibition of wine came down when (the Quranic verse ) came down. It was made from five thing namely, grapes, dates, honey, wheat, barley. Wine is what infects (khamara) the mind. There are three things I wished that the prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم would not leave us until he explained them fully to our satisfaction: (share of) grandfather, one who leaves no descendants or ascendants as hairs, and the details of usury.

Narrated Umar ibn al-Khattab: When the prohibition of wine (was yet to be) declared, Umar said: O Allah, give us a satisfactory explanation about wine. So the following verse of Surat al-Baqarah revealed; They ask thee concerning wine and gambling. Say: In them is great sin. . . . Umar was then called and it was recited to him. He said: O Allah, give us a satisfactory explanation about wine. Then the following verse of Surat an-Nisa' was revealed: O ye who believe! approach not prayers with a mind befogged. . . . Thereafter the herald of the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم would call when the (congregational) prayer was performed: Beware, one who is drunk should not come to prayer. Umar was again called and it was recited to him). He said: O Allah, give us a satisfactory explanation about wine. This verse was revealed: Will ye not then abstain? Umar said: We abstained.
