حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَّامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَبِي سَلَّامٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍمِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: أَغَرْنَا عَلَى حَيٍّ مِنْ جُهَيْنَةَ فَطَلَبَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ رَجُلًا مِنْهُمْ فَضَرَبَهُ، فَأَخْطَأَهُ وَأَصَابَ نَفْسَهُ بِالسَّيْفِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَخُوكُمْ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَابْتَدَرَهُ النَّاسُ فَوَجَدُوهُ قَدْ مَاتَ، فَلَفَّهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِثِيَابِهِ وَدِمَائِهِ وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ وَدَفَنَهُ، فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَشَهِيدٌ هُوَ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ وَأَنَا لَهُ شَهِيدٌ .
ابو سلام ایک صحابی سے روایت کرتے ہوئے کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے جہینہ کے ایک قبیلہ پر شب خون مارا تو ایک مسلمان نے ایک آدمی کو مارنے کا قصد کیا، اس نے اسے تلوار سے مارا لیکن تلوار نے خطا کی اور اچٹ کر اسی کو لگ گئی، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: مسلمانوں کی جماعت! اپنے مسلمان بھائی کی خبر لو ، لوگ تیزی سے اس کی طرف دوڑے، تو اسے مردہ پایا، چنانچہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسے اسی کے کپڑوں اور زخموں میں لپیٹا، اس پر نماز جنازہ پڑھی اور اسے دفن کر دیا، لوگوں نے پوچھا: اللہ کے رسول! کیا وہ شہید ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ہاں اور میں اس کا گواہ ہوں ۔
Narrated Abu Salam: Abu Salam reported on the authority of a man from the companion of the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم. He said: We attacked a tribe of Juhaynah. A man from the Muslims pursued a man of them, and struck him but missed him. He struck himself with the sword. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: Your brother, O group of Muslims. The people hastened towards him, but found him dead. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم wrapped him with his clothes and his blood, and offered (funeral) prayer for him and buried him. They said: Messenger of Allah, is he a martyr? He said: Yes, and I am witness to him.
