حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْوَرَكَانِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ فِي خَبَرِ الْمُتَلَاعِنَيْنِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَبْصِرُوهَا، فَإِنْ جَاءَتْ بِهِ أَدْعَجَ الْعَيْنَيْنِ عَظِيمَ الْأَلْيَتَيْنِ، فَلَا أُرَاهُ إِلَّا قَدْ صَدَقَ، وَإِنْ جَاءَتْ بِهِ أُحَيْمِرَ كَأَنَّهُ وَحَرَةٌ، فَلَا أُرَاهُ إِلَّا كَاذِبًا ، قَالَ: فَجَاءَتْ بِهِ عَلَى النَّعْتِ الْمَكْرُوهِ.
لعان والی حدیث میں سہل بن سعد رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اس عورت پر نظر رکھو اگر بچہ سیاہ آنکھوں والا، بڑی سرینوں والا ہو تو میں یہی سمجھتا ہوں کہ اس ( شوہر ) نے سچ کہا ہے، اور اگر سرخ رنگ گیرو کی طرح ہو تو میں سمجھتا ہوں کی وہ جھوٹا ہے ، چنانچہ اس کا بچہ ناپسندیدہ صفت پر پیدا ہوا۔
Sahl bin Saad reported the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as saying - in the tradition of spouses who invoked curses to each other “Look if she bears a child which has very black eyes, large buttocks, I cannot but imagine that he (i. e., ‘Uwaimir) has spoken the truth. But, if she bears a reddish child like the lizard with red spots (waharah), I cannot imagine that ‘Uwaimir has lied against her. She gave birth to a child (like that described the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) in a detestable manner.

Abdullah bin Umar said that he divorced his wife while she was menstruating during the time of the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم. So Umar bin Al Khattab asked the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم about this matter. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said “Order him, he must take her back and keep her back till she is purified, then has another menstrual period and is purified. Thereafter if he desires he may divorce her before having intercourse with her, for that is the period of waiting which Allaah the Glorified has commanded for the divorce of women. ”
