حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ الْبَزَّازُ الرَّازِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُبَشِّرٌ الْحَلَبِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ أَبِي غَسَّانَ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ، أَنّ الْفُتْيَا الَّتِي كَانُوا يَفْتُونَ أَنَّ الْمَاءَ مِنَ الْمَاءِ كَانَتْ رُخْصَةً رَخَّصَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فِي بَدْءِ الْإِسْلَامِ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِالِاغْتِسَالِ بَعْدُ .
سہل بن سعد رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ابی بن کعب رضی اللہ عنہ نے مجھ سے بیان کیا ہے کہ بعض صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم جو یہ فتوی دیا کرتے تھے کہ منی کے انزال ہونے پر ہی غسل واجب ہوتا ہے، یہ رخصت رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ابتدائے اسلام میں دی تھی پھر اس کے بعد آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے غسل کرنے کا حکم دیا۔
Ubayy bin Kaab said: The verdict that water (bath) is necessary when there is emission given by the people (in the early days of Islam) was due to the concession granted by the Messenger of Allah in the beginning of Islam. He then commanded to take a bath (in such a case). Abu Dawud said: By Abu Ghassan is meant Muhammad bin mutarrif.

Abu al-Tayyah reported on the authority of a shaykh (an old man): When Abdullah ibn Abbas came to Basrah, people narrated to him traditions from Abu Musa. Therefore Ibn Abbas wrote to him asking him about certain things. In reply Abu Musa wrote to him saying: One day I was in the company of theMessenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم. He wanted to urinate. Then he came to a soft ground at the foot of a wall and urinated. He (the Prophet) then said: If any of you wants to urinate, he should look for a place (like this) for his urination.

Anas bin Malik reported: When the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم entered the toilet, he used to say (before entering): O Allaah, I seek refuge in Thee. This is according to the version of Hammad. Abd al-Warith has another version: I seek refuge in Allaah from male and female devils.
