حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي خَلَفٍ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ ابْنُ السَّرْحِ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ: عَنْ إِيَاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي ذُبَابٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: لَا تَضْرِبُوا إِمَاءَ اللَّهِ ، فَجَاءَ عُمَرُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: ذَئِرْنَ النِّسَاءُ عَلَى أَزْوَاجِهِنَّ، فَرَخَّصَ فِي ضَرْبِهِنَّ، فَأَطَافَ بِآلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نِسَاءٌ كَثِيرٌ يَشْكُونَ أَزْوَاجَهُنَّ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: لَقَدْ طَافَ بِآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ نِسَاءٌ كَثِيرٌ يَشْكُونَ أَزْوَاجَهُنَّ، لَيْسَ أُولَئِكَ بِخِيَارِكُمْ .
ایاس بن عبداللہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اللہ کی بندیوں کو نہ مارو ، چنانچہ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے اور کہنے لگے: ( آپ کے اس فرمان کے بعد ) عورتیں اپنے شوہروں پر دلیر ہو گئی ہیں، چنانچہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں مارنے اور تادیب کی رخصت دے دی، پھر عورتیں اپنے شوہروں کی شکایتیں لے کر ازواج مطہرات کے پاس پہنچنے لگیں، تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: بہت سی عورتیں اپنے شوہروں کی شکایتیں لے کر محمد کے گھر والوں کے پاس پہنچ رہی ہیں، یہ ( مار پیٹ کرنے والے ) لوگ تم میں بہترین لوگ نہیں ہیں ۔
Iyas ibn Abdullah ibn Abu Dhubab reported the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as saying: Do not beat Allah's handmaidens, but when Umar came to the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم and said: Women have become emboldened towards their husbands, he (the Prophet) gave permission to beat them. Then many women came round the family of the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم complaining against their husbands. So the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: Many women have gone round Muhammad's family complaining against their husbands. They are not the best among you.

Hadith 2046
Alqamah said “I was going with Abd Allaah bin Masud at Mina where Uthman met him and desired to have a talk with him in privacy”. When Abd Allaah (bin Masud) thought there was no need of privacy, he said to me “Come, Alqamah So I came (to him)”. Then Uthman said to him “Should we not marry you, Abu Abd Al Rahman to a virgin girl, so that the power you have lost may return to you?” Abd Allaah (bin Masud) said “If you say that, I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم say “ Those of you who can support a wife, should marry, for it keeps you from looking at strange women and preserve from unlawful intercourse, but those who cannot should devote themselves to fasting, for it is a means of suppressing sexual desire.

He said: No. He came again to him, but he prohibited him. He came to him third time, and he (the Prophet) said: Marry women who are loving and very prolific, for I shall outnumber the peoples by you.
