حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّاسَ فِي أَوَّلِ الْحَجِّ كَانُوا يَتَبَايَعُونَ بِمِنًى وَ عَرَفَةَ وَ سُوقِ ذِي الْمَجَازِ وَمَوَاسِمِ الْحَجِّ فَخَافُوا الْبَيْعَ وَهُمْ حُرُمٌ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ: لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ تَبْتَغُوا فَضْلا مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ سورة البقرة آية 198 فِي مَوَاسِمِ الْحَجِّ ، قَالَ: فَحَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَؤُهَا فِي الْمُصْحَفِ.
عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ لوگ شروع شروع میں منیٰ، عرفہ اور ذوالمجاز کے بازاروں اور حج کے موسم میں خرید و فروخت کیا کرتے تھے پھر انہیں حالت احرام میں خرید و فروخت کرنے میں تامل ہوا، تو اللہ نے «ليس عليكم جناح أن تبتغوا فضلا من ربكم» تم پر اس میں کوئی گناہ نہیں کہ تم اپنے رب کا فضل تلاش کرو نازل کیا یعنی حج کے موسم میں۔ عطا کہتے ہیں: مجھ سے عبید بن عمیر نے بیان کیا کہ وہ ( ابن عباس ) اسے «في مواسم الحج» اپنے مصحف میں پڑھا کرتے تھے ۱؎۔
Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The people used to trade, in the beginning, at Mina, Arafat, the market place of Dhul-Majaz, and during the season of hajj. But (later on) they became afraid of trading while they were putting on ihram. So Allah, glory be to Him, sent down this verse: It is no sin for you that you seek the bounty of your Lord during the seasons of hajj. Ubayd ibn Umayr told me that he (Ibn Abbas) used to recite this verse in his codex.

Hadith 1721
Narrated Aqra ibn Habib: Ibn Abbas said: Aqra ibn Habis asked the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم saying: Messenger of Allah hajj is to be performed annually or only once? He replied: Only once, and if anyone performs it more often, he performs a supererogatory act. Abu Dawud said: The narrator Abu Sinan is Abu Sinan al-Du'wail. The same has been reported by both Abd al-Jalil bin Humaid and Sulaiman bin Kathir from al-Zuhri. The narrator 'Uqail reported the name Sinan .

Abu Hurairah reported the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as saying: A woman who believes in Allah and the last Day must not make a journey of a day and a night. He then narrated the rest of the tradition to the same effect (as above). The narrator al-Nufaili said: Malik narrated us. Abu Dawud said: The narrators al-Nufail and al_Qanabi did not mention the words “from his father”. Ibn Wahb and Uthman bin Umr narrated from Malik the same words as narrated by al-Qanabi (i. e. omitted the words “from his father”).
