فيصلي بالذين يلونه ركعة ثم يقوم قائما حتى يصلي الذين معه ركعة أخرى ثم ينصرفون فيصفون وجاه العدو وتجيء الطائفة الأخرى فيصلي بهم ركعة ويثبت جالسا فيتمون لأنفسهم ركعة أخرى ثم يسلم بهم جميعا

  امام ان لوگوں کو جو اس کے ساتھ ہوں ، ایک رکعت پڑھائے ، پھر وہ یوں ہی کھڑا رہے یہاں تک کہ جو لوگ اس کے ساتھ ہیں دوسری رکعت پوری کر لیں ۔ پھر وہ واپس جا کر دشمن کے سامنے صف بستہ ہو جائیں اور دوسری ٹکڑی آئے تو وہ امام کے ساتھ ایک رکعت ادا کرے ، اور امام یونہی بیٹھا رہے ، یہاں تک کہ وہ اپنی دوسری رکعت بھی مکمل کر لیں پھر امام ان سب کے ساتھ سلام پھیرے ۔

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: The prayer was prescribed as consisting of two rak'ahs both when one was resident and when travelling. The prayer while travelling was left according to the original prescription and the prayer of one who was resident was enhanced.

Narrated Yala bin Umayyah: I remarked to Umar al-Khattab: Have you seen the shortening of the prayer by the people today while Allah has said: If you fear that those who are infidels may afflict you , whereas those days are gone now? He replied: I have wondered about the same matter for which you wondered. So I mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He said: It is an act of charity which Allah has done to you, so accept his charity.
