حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، وَيَعْقُوبُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ الْأَنْطَاكِيُّ، لَفْظَهُ قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ حَرِيزِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ، عَنْ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ مَعْدِي كَرِبَ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ، فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَسْحَ رَأْسِهِ وَضَعَ كَفَّيْهِ عَلَى مُقَدَّمِ رَأْسِهِ فَأَمَرَّهُمَا حَتَّى بَلَغَ الْقَفَا ثُمَّ رَدَّهُمَا إِلَى الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي بَدَأَ مِنْهُ ، قَالَ مَحْمُودٌ: قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي حَرِيزٌ.
مقدام بن معد یکرب رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھا آپ نے وضو کیا، جب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اپنے سر کے مسح پر پہنچے تو اپنی دونوں ہتھیلیوں کو اپنے سر کے اگلے حصہ پر رکھا، پھر انہیں پھیرتے ہوئے گدی تک پہنچے، پھر اپنے دونوں ہاتھ اسی جگہ واپس لے آئے جہاں سے مسح شروع کیا تھا۔ تخریج دارالدعوہ: سنن ابن ماجہ/الطہارة ۵۲ ( ۴۴۲ ) ، ( تحفة الأشراف: ۱۱۵۷۲ ) ( صحیح )
Al-Miqdam bin Madikarib reported: I saw the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم perform ablution. When he reached the stage of wiping his head, he placed his palms on the front of the head. Then he moved them until he reached the nape. He then returned them to the place from where he had started.

Abu al-Tayyah reported on the authority of a shaykh (an old man): When Abdullah ibn Abbas came to Basrah, people narrated to him traditions from Abu Musa. Therefore Ibn Abbas wrote to him asking him about certain things. In reply Abu Musa wrote to him saying: One day I was in the company of theMessenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم. He wanted to urinate. Then he came to a soft ground at the foot of a wall and urinated. He (the Prophet) then said: If any of you wants to urinate, he should look for a place (like this) for his urination.
