حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْحُمْرَانَ بْنِ أَبَانَ مَوْلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ تَوَضَّأَ فَأَفْرَغَ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا فَغَسَلَهُمَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ تَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْثَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَغَسَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى إِلَى الْمِرْفَقِ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ الْيُسْرَى مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ مَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ غَسَلَ قَدَمَهُ الْيُمْنَى ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ الْيُسْرَى مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ مِثْلَ وُضُوئِي هَذَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ مِثْلَ وُضُوئِي هَذَا ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ لَا يُحَدِّثُ فِيهِمَا نَفْسَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ .

عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ عنہ کے غلام حمران بن ابان کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ عنہ کو دیکھا کہ آپ نے وضو کیا تو پہلے اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں پر تین بار پانی ڈالا ان کو دھویا، پھر کلی کی، اور ناک جھاڑی، پھر اپنا چہرہ تین بار دھویا، اور اپنا دایاں ہاتھ کہنی تک تین بار دھویا، اور پھر اسی طرح بایاں ہاتھ، پھر سر پر مسح کیا، پھر اپنا داہنا پاؤں تین بار دھویا، پھر بایاں پاؤں اسی طرح، پھر کہا: میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھا کہ آپ نے میرے اسی وضو کی طرح وضو کیا، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جو شخص میرے اس وضو کی طرح وضو کرے پھر دو رکعت نماز پڑھے اس میں دنیا کا خیال و وسوسہ اسے نہ آئے تو اللہ تعالیٰ اس شخص کے پچھلے گناہ کو معاف فرما دے گا ۔

Humran bin Abban, the freed slave of Uthman, said: I saw Uthman bin Affan while he performed ablution. He poured water over his hands three times and then washed them. He then rinsed his mouth and then cleansed his nose with water (three times). He then washed his right arm up to the elbow three times, then two rakhahs of prayer without allowing his thoughts to be distracted, Allah will pardon all his past sins washed his left arm in a similar manner; then wiped his head; then washed his right foot three times, then washed his left foot in a similar manner, and then said: I saw the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم performing ablution like this ablution of mine. Then he (the Prophet) said: He who performs ablution like this ablution of mine and then offered.

Hadith 3

Abu al-Tayyah reported on the authority of a shaykh (an old man): When Abdullah ibn Abbas came to Basrah, people narrated to him traditions from Abu Musa. Therefore Ibn Abbas wrote to him asking him about certain things. In reply Abu Musa wrote to him saying: One day I was in the company of theMessenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He wanted to urinate. Then he came to a soft ground at the foot of a wall and urinated. He (the Prophet) then said: If any of you wants to urinate, he should look for a place (like this) for his urination.

Hadith 4

Anas bin Malik reported: When the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم entered the toilet, he used to say (before entering): O Allaah, I seek refuge in Thee. This is according to the version of Hammad. Abd al-Warith has another version: I seek refuge in Allaah from male and female devils.

Another tradition on the authority of Anas has: O Allaah, I seek refuge in Thee. Shubah said: Anas sometimes reported the words: I take refuge in Allah.
