حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ الرَّازِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدَةَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، كَانَ يَجْهَرُ بِهَؤُلَاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ يَقُولُ: «سُبْحَانَكَ اللهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، تَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ، وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ، وَلَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ‘وَعَنْ قَتَادَةَ أَنَّهُ كَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ يُخْبِرُهُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ: صَلَّيْتُ خَلَفَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ، وَعُمَرَ، وَعُثْمَانَ، فَكَانُوا يَسْتَفْتِحُونَ بِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ، لَا يَذْكُرُونَ {بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ} [الفاتحة: 1] فِي أَوَّلِ قِرَاءَةٍ وَلَا فِي آخِرِهَا
وزاعی نے عبدہ سے روایت کی کہ حضرت عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ یہ کلمات بلند آواز سے پڑھتے تھے : سبحانك اللهم! وبحمدك ، تبارك اسمك وتعالى جدك ، ولا إله غيرك ’’اے اللہ! تو اپنی حمد کے ساتھ پاک ہے ۔ تیرا نام بڑا بابرکت ہے اور تیری عظمت وشان بڑی بلند ہے اور تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں ۔ ‘ ‘ ( نیز اوزاعی ہی کی ) قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے حضرت انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے ( اپنی ) روایت کی خبر دیتے ہوئے ان ( اوزاعی ) کی طرف لکھ بھیجا کہ انہوں نے ( انس رضی اللہ عنہ ) نے قتادہ کو حدیث سنائی ، کہا : میں نے نبیﷺ ، ابو بکر ، عمر اورعثمان رضی اللہ عنہ کے پیچھے نماز پڑھی ہے ، وہ ( نماز کا ) آغاز الحمد لله رب العالمين سے کرتے تھے ، وہ بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ( بلند آواز سے ) نہیں کہتے تھے ، نہ قراءت کے شروع میں اور نہ اس کے آخر میں ہی ( دوسری سورت کے آغاز پر
Abda reported: 'Umar b. al-Khattab used to recite loudly these words: Subhanak Allahumma wa bi hamdika wa tabarakasmuka wa ta'ala jadduka wa la ilaha ghairuka [Glory to Thee,0 Allah, and Thine is the Praise, and Blessed is Thy Name. and Exalted is Thy Majesty. and there is no other object of worship beside Thee]. Qatada informed in writing that Anas b. Malik had narrated to him: I observed prayer behind the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) and Abu Bakr and Umar and 'Uthman. They started (loud recitation) with: AI-hamdu lillahi Rabb al-'Alamin [All Praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds] and did not recite Bismillah ir- Rahman-ir-Rahim (loudly) at the beginning of the recitation or at the end of it.

Anas reported: Bilal was commanded (by the Messenger of Allah) to repeat (the phrases of) Adhan twice and once in Iqama. The narrator said: I made a mention of it before Ayyub who said: Except for saying: Qamat-is-Salat [the time for prayer has come].
