حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ انْطَلَقْتُ مَعَهُ إِلَى حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ فَقَالَ لَهُ عُقْبَةُ حَدِّثْنِي مَا سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الدَّجَّالِ قَالَ إِنَّ الدَّجَّالَ يَخْرُجُ وَإِنَّ مَعَهُ مَاءً وَنَارًا فَأَمَّا الَّذِي يَرَاهُ النَّاسُ مَاءً فَنَارٌ تُحْرِقُ وَأَمَّا الَّذِي يَرَاهُ النَّاسُ نَارًا فَمَاءٌ بَارِدٌ عَذْبٌ فَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ ذَلِكَ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيَقَعْ فِي الَّذِي يَرَاهُ نَارًا فَإِنَّهُ مَاءٌ عَذْبٌ طَيِّبٌ فَقَالَ عُقْبَةُ وَأَنَا قَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ تَصْدِيقًا لِحُذَيْفَةَ
شعیب بن صفوان نے ہمیں عبد الملک بن عمیرسے انھوں نے ربعی بن حراش سے انھوں نے عقبہ بن عمرو ابو مسعود انصاری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی ، ( ربعی نے ) کہا : میں ان ( عقبہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ) کے ہمراہ حضرت حذیفہ بن یمان رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے پاس گیا عقبہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے ان سے کہا : آپ نے دجال کے متعلق رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے جو حدیث سنی ہے وہ مجھے بیان کریے ۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : "" دجال نکلے گااس کے ساتھ پانی ہوگا اور آگ ہوگی ۔ جو لوگوں کو پانی نظر آرہا ہو گا ( وہ ) آگ ہوگی ۔ اور جو لوگوں کو نظر آرہی ہو گی ۔ وہ ٹھنڈا میٹھا پانی ہو گا تم میں سے جو شخص اس کو پائے وہ اس میں کودجائے جو اسے آگ نظر آرہی ہو ۔ بلاشبہ وہ میٹھا پاکیزہ پانی ہو گا ۔ حضرت عقبہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے ۔ حضرت حذیفہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کی تصدیق کرتے ہوئے کہا ۔ اور میں نے ( بھی ) یہ حدیث سنی تھی ۔
Hudhaifa and Ibn Mas'ud met together. Hudhaifa said: I know more than you as to what there would be along with the Dajjal. There would be along with him two canals (one flowing with water) and the other one (having) fire (within it), and what you would see as fire would be water and what you would see as water would be fire. So he who amongst you is able to see that and is desirous of water should drink out of that which he sees as fire.

And Sufyan made a sign of ten with the help of his hand (in order to indicate the width of the gap) and I said: Allah's Messenger, would we be perished in spite of the fact that there would be good people amongst us? Thereupon he said: Of course, but only when the evil predominates.

Zainab bint Jahsh, the wife of Allah's Apostle ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ), reported that one day Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) came out in a state of excitement with his face quite red. And he was saying: There is no god but Allah; there is a destruction in store for Arabia because of the turmoil which is near at hand as the barrier of Gog and Magog has been opened like it, and he (in order to explain it) made a ring with the help of his thumb and forefinger. I said: Allah's Messenger, would we be destroyed despite the fact that there would be pious people amongst us? He said: Yes, when evil would be predominant.
