حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّارِمِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ، أَنَّ الْمِسْوَرَ بْنَ مَخْرَمَةَ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ خَطَبَ بِنْتَ أَبِي جَهْلٍ، وَعِنْدَهُ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَلَمَّا سَمِعَتْ بِذَلِكَ فَاطِمَةُ أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَتْ لَهُ: إِنَّ قَوْمَكَ يَتَحَدَّثُونَ أَنَّكَ لَا تَغْضَبُ لِبَنَاتِكَ، وَهَذَا عَلِيٌّ نَاكِحًا ابْنَةَ أَبِي جَهْلٍ، قَالَ الْمِسْوَرُ: فَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ حِينَ تَشَهَّدَ ثُمَّ قَالَ: «أَمَّا بَعْدُ، فَإِنِّي أَنْكَحْتُ أَبَا الْعَاصِ بْنَ الرَّبِيعِ، فَحَدَّثَنِي، فَصَدَقَنِي وَإِنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ مُحَمَّدٍ مُضْغَةٌ مِنِّي، وَإِنَّمَا أَكْرَهُ أَنْ يَفْتِنُوهَا، وَإِنَّهَا، وَاللهِ لَا تَجْتَمِعُ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللهِ وَبِنْتُ عَدُوِّ اللهِ عِنْدَ رَجُلٍ وَاحِدٍ أَبَدًا» قَالَ: فَتَرَكَ عَلِيٌّ الْخِطْبَةَ
شعیب نے زہری سے روایت کی ، انھوں نے کہا : مجھے علی بن حسین ( زین العابدین ) نے خبر دی کہ مسور بن مخرمہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے انھیں بتا یا کہ حضرت علی بن ابی طالب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے ابو جہل کی بیٹی کے لیے نکا ح کا پیغام دیا : جبکہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی بیٹی حضرت فاطمہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا ان کے پاس ( نکاح میں ) تھیں تو جب حضرت فاطمہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے یہ بات سنی تو وہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئیں تو آپ سے کہا : آپ کی قوم ( بنو ہاشم ) کے لو گ یہ کہتے ہیں کہ آپ کو اپنی بیٹیوں کے لیے غصہ نہیں آتا اور یہ علی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ہیں جو ابو جہل کی بیٹی سے نکا ح کرنے والے ہیں ۔ حضرت مسور رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے کہا : تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ( خطبہ دینے کے لیے ) کھڑے ہو ئے جب آپ نے شہادت کے الفاظ ادا کیے تو میں نے سنا ، پھر آپ نے فر ما یا : " اس کے بعد!میں نے ابو العاص بن ربیع کو رشتہ دیا تو اس نے میرے ساتھ بات کی تو سچی بات کی ، بے شک فاطمہ بنت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم میری جان کا ایک حصہ ہے ۔ مجھے یہ بہت برا لگتا ہے کہ لو گ اسے آزمائش میں ڈالیں ۔ اور بات یہ ہے کہ اللہ کی قسم!اللہ کے رسول کی بیٹی اور اللہ کے دشمن کی بیٹی ایک شخص کے نکا ح میں اکٹھی نہیں ہو ں گی ۔ " ( حضرت مسور رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے ) کہا : تو حضرت علی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے نکا ح کا ارادہ ترک کر دیا ۔
Ali b. Husain reported that Miswar b. Makhramah informed him that 'Ali b. Abi Talib sent the proposal of marriage to the daughter of Abu Jahl as he had Fatima, the daughter of Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ), (as his wife). When Fatima heard about it, she came to Allah's Apostle ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) and said: The people say that you never feel angry on account of your daughters and now 'Ali is going to marry the daughter of Abu Jahl. Makhramah said: Thereupon Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) rose up and I heard him reciting Tashahhud and say: Now to the point. I gave a daughter of mine (Zainab) to Abu'l-'As b. Rabi, and he spoke to me and spoke the truth. Verily Fatima, the daughter of Muhammad, is a part of me and I do not approve that she may be put to any trial and by Allah, the daughter of Allah's Messenger cannot be combined with the daughter of God's enemy (as the co-wives) of one person. Thereupon 'Ali gave up (the idea of his intended) marriage.

Anas b. Malik reported that Abu Bakr Siddiq reported him thus: I saw the feet of the polytheists very close to us as we were in the cave. I said: Allah's Messenger, if one amongst them were to see at his feet he would have surely seen us. Thereupon he said: Abu Bakr, what can befall two who have Allah as the third One with them.

Abu Sa'id reported that Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) sat on the pulpit and said: Allah gave a choice to His servant that he may opt the beauties of the world or that which is with Him and the servant chose that which was with Him. Thereupon Abu Bakr wept and he wept bitterly and said: Let our fathers and our mothers be taken as ransom for you. It was Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) who had been given the choice and Abu Bakr knew it better than us, and Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) is reported to have said: Behold, of all people the most generous toward me in regard to his companionship and his property was Abu Bakr and were I to choose anyone as my bosom friend, I would have chosen Abu Bakr as my dear friend, but (for him) I cherish Islamic brotherliness and love. There shall be left open no window in the mosque except Abu Bakr's window.
