حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: صَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمْرًا فَتَرَخَّصَ فِيهِ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ نَاسًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ، فَكَأَنَّهُمْ كَرِهُوهُ وَتَنَزَّهُوا عَنْهُ، فَبَلَغَهُ ذَلِكَ، فَقَامَ خَطِيبًا فَقَالَ: «مَا بَالُ رِجَالٍ بَلَغَهُمْ عَنِّي أَمْرٌ تَرَخَّصْتُ فِيهِ، فَكَرِهُوهُ وَتَنَزَّهُوا عَنْهُ، فَوَاللهِ لَأَنَا أَعْلَمُهُمْ بِاللهِ، وَأَشَدُّهُمْ لَهُ خَشْيَةً»
جریر نے ہمیں اعمش سے حدیث سنائی ، انھوں نے ابو ضحیٰ ( مسلم ) سے ، انھوں نے مسروق سے ، انھوں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت کی ، انھوں نے کہا : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کوئی کام کیا اور اس کی اجازت عطا فرمائی آپ کے صحابہ رضوان اللہ عنھم اجمعین میں بعض کو یہ خبر پہنچی ، انھوں نے گویا کہ اس ( رخصت اور اجازت ) کو ناپسند کیا اور اس کام سے پرہیز کیا ۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یہ بات پہنچی تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم خطبے کے لئے کھڑے ہوئے اور فرمایا ۔ ؛ " ان لوگوں کا کیاحال ہے کہ جن کو خبر ملی کہ میں نے ایک کام کی اجازت دی ہے تو انھوں نے اس کام کو ناپسند کیا اور اس کام سے پرہیز کیا ۔ اللہ کی قسم!میں ان سب سے زیادہ اللہ کا علم رکھتا ہوں اوراس ( اللہ ) کی خشیت میں ان سب سےبڑھ کر ہوں ۔ "
A'isha reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) did an act, and held it to be valid. This news reached some persons amongst his Companions (and it was felt) that they did not approve of it and avoided (it). This reaction of theirs was conveyed to him. He stood to deliver an address; and said: What has happened to the people to whom there was conveyed on my behalf a matter for which I granted permission and they disapproved it and avoided it? By Allah, I have the best knowledge of Allah amongst them, and I fear Him most amongst them.

Anas reported that Allah's Apostle ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) called for water and he was given a vessel and the people began to perform ablution in that and I counted (the persons) and they were between fifty and eighty and I saw water which was spouting from his fingers.

Anas b. Malik reported: I saw Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) during the time of the afternoon prayer and the people asking for water for performing ablution which they did not find. (A small quantity) of water was brought to Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) and he placed his hand in that vessel and commanded people to perform ablution. I saw water spouting from his fingers and the people performing ablution until the last amongst them performed it.
