حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِجَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ: أَكُنْتَ تُجَالِسُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ كَثِيرًا، «كَانَ لَا يَقُومُ مِنْ مُصَلَّاهُ الَّذِي يُصَلِّي فِيهِ الصُّبْحَ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ، فَإِذَا طَلَعَتْ قَامَ وَكَانُوا يَتَحَدَّثُونَ، فَيَأْخُذُونَ فِي أَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَيَضْحَكُونَ وَيَتَبَسَّمُ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ»
سماک بن حرب سے روایت ہے ، انھوں نے کہا : میں نے حضرت جابر بن سمرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے پوچھا : کیا آپ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی مجلس میں شرکت کرتے تھے؟انھوں نے کہا : ہاں ، بہت شرکت کی ، آپ جس جگہ پر صبح کی نماز پڑھتے تھے تو سورج نکلنے سے پہلے وہاں نہیں اٹھتے تھے ۔ جب سورج نکل آیا تو آپ وہاں سے اٹھتے ، صحابہ کرام رضوان اللہ عنھم اجمعین جاہلیت کے ( کسی نہ کسی ) معاملے کو لیتے اور ( اس پر باہم ) بات چیت کرتے تو ہنسی مذاق بھی کرتے ، ( لیکن ) آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ( صرف ) مسکراتے تھے ۔
Simak b. Harb reported: I said to Jabir b. Samura: Did you have the privilege of sitting in the company of Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم )? He said: Yes, very frequently, and added: He did not stand up (and go) from the place where he offered the dawn prayer until the sun rose, and after the rising of the sun he stood up, and they (his Companions) entered into conversation with one another and they talked of the things (that they did during the Days of Ignorance), and they laughed (on their unreasonable and ridiculous acts). Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) smiled only.

Wathila b. al-Asqa' reported: I heard Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: Verily Allah granted eminence to Kinana from amongst the descendants of Isma'il, and he granted eminence to the Quraish amongst Kinana, and he granted eminence to Banu Hashim amonsgst the Quraish, and he granted me eminence from the tribe of Banu Hashim.

Anas b. Malik reported: I saw Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) during the time of the afternoon prayer and the people asking for water for performing ablution which they did not find. (A small quantity) of water was brought to Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) and he placed his hand in that vessel and commanded people to perform ablution. I saw water spouting from his fingers and the people performing ablution until the last amongst them performed it.
