حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ - وَاللَّفْظُ لِيَحْيَى قَالَ يَحْيَى: وَإِسْحَاقُ: أَخْبَرَنَا، وقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَارٍ، وَقَدْ أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيْهِ وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا، فَنَحْنُ نَأْخُذُهَا مِنْ فِيهِ رَطْبَةً، إِذْ خَرَجَتْ عَلَيْنَا حَيَّةٌ، فَقَالَ: «اقْتُلُوهَا» فَابْتَدَرْنَاهَا، لِنَقْتُلَهَا، فَسَبَقَتْنَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «وَقَاهَا اللهُ شَرَّكُمْ كَمَا وَقَاكُمْ شَرَّهَا»
ابو معاویہ نے اعمش سے ، انھوں نے ابرا ہیم سے ، انھوں نے اسود سے ، انھوں نے حضرت عبد اللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی ، کہا : ہم نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ ایک غار میں تھے ، اس وقت نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پر ( سورۃ ) ﴿وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا﴾نازل ہو ئی ، ہم اس سورت کو تازہ بہ تازہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے دہن مبارک سے حاصل کر ( سیکھ رہے تھے کہ اچانک ایک سانپ نکلا ، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فر ما یا : " اس کو مار دو ۔ " ہم اس کو مارنے کے لیے جھپٹےتو وہ ہم سے آگے بھا گ گیا ، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فر ما یا : " اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس کو تمھا رے ( ہاتھوں ) نقصان پہنچنےسے بچا لیا جس طرح تمھیں اس کے نقصان سے بچا لیا ۔ "
Abdullah reported: We were with Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) in a cave when there was revealed to him (the Sura al-Mursalat, i. e. Sura lxxvii.: By those sent forth to spread goodness ) and we had just heard (it) from his lips that there appeared before us a snake. He said: Kill it. We hastened to kill it, but it slipped away from us, thereupon Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: Allah saved it from your harm just as he saved you from its evil.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: The rider should first greet the pedestrian, and the pedestrian the one who is seated and a small group should greet a larger group (with as-Salam-u-'Alaikum).

He stood by us and said: What about you and your meetings on the paths? Avoid these meetings on the paths. We said: We were sitting here without (any intention of doing harm to the passers-by) ; we are sitting to discuss matters and to hold conversation amongst ourselves. Thereupon he said: If there is no help (for you but to sit on these paths), then give the paths their rights and these are lowering of the gaze, exchanging of greetings and good conversation.

Abu Sa'id Khudri reported Allah's Apostle ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: Avoid sitting on the paths. They (the Companions) said: Allah's Messenger, we cannot help but holding our meetings (in these paths) and discuss matters (there). Thereupon Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: If you insist on holding meetings, then give the path its due right. They said: What are its due rights? Upon this he said: Lowering the gaze, refraining from doing harm, exchanging of greetings. commanding of good and forbidding from evil.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: Five are the rights of a Muslim over his brother: responding to salutation, saying Yarhamuk Allah when anybody sneezes and says al-Hamdulillah, visiting the sick. following the bier. ' Abd al-Razzaq said that this hadith has been transmitted as mursal hadith from Zuhri and he then substantiated it on the authority of Ibn Musayyib.
