حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الرُّقَى فَجَاءَ آلُ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ كَانَتْ عِنْدَنَا رُقْيَةٌ نَرْقِي بِهَا مِنْ الْعَقْرَبِ وَإِنَّكَ نَهَيْتَ عَنْ الرُّقَى قَالَ فَعَرَضُوهَا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ مَا أَرَى بَأْسًا مَنْ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَنْفَعَ أَخَاهُ فَلْيَنْفَعْهُ

  ابو معاویہ نے اعمش سے ، انھوں نے سفیان سے ، انھوں نے حضرت جا بر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی کہا : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دم کرنے سے منع فرما دیا تو عمرو بن حزم کا خاندان رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حا ضر ہوا اور عرض کی ، اللہ کے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ! ہمارے پاس دم ( کرنے کا ایک کلمہ ) تھا ۔ ہم اس سے بچھو کے ڈسے ہو ئے کو دم کرتے تھے اور آپ نے دم کرنے سے منع فر ما دیا ۔ انھوں ( جا بر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ) نے کہا : تو انھوں نے وہ پیش کیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فر ما یا : " میں ( اس میں کو ئی ) حرج نہیں سمجھتا ۔ تم میں سے جو کوئی اپنے بھا ئی کو فائدہ پہنچاسکتا ہو تو وہ ضرور اسے فائدہ پہنچائے ۔

Jabir reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) prohibited incantation. Then the people of Amr b. Hazm came to Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) and said: We know an incantation which we use for curing the sting of the scorpion but you have prohibited it. They recited (the words of incantation) before him, whereupon he said: I do not see any harm (in it), so he who amongst you is competent to do good to his brother should do that.

Hadith 5647

Abu Talha reported: While we were sitting in front of the houses and talking amongst ourselves, Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) happened to come there. He stood by us and said: What about you and your meetings on the paths? Avoid these meetings on the paths. We said: We were sitting here without (any intention of doing harm to the passers-by) ; we are sitting to discuss matters and to hold conversation amongst ourselves. Thereupon he said: If there is no help (for you but to sit on these paths), then give the paths their rights and these are lowering of the gaze, exchanging of greetings and good conversation.

Hadith 5648

Abu Sa'id Khudri reported Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: Avoid sitting on the paths. They (the Companions) said: Allah's Messenger, we cannot help but holding our meetings (in these paths) and discuss matters (there). Thereupon Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: If you insist on holding meetings, then give the path its due right. They said: What are its due rights? Upon this he said: Lowering the gaze, refraining from doing harm, exchanging of greetings. commanding of good and forbidding from evil.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: Five are the rights of a Muslim over his brother: responding to salutation, saying Yarhamuk Allah when anybody sneezes and says al-Hamdulillah, visiting the sick. following the bier. ' Abd al-Razzaq said that this hadith has been transmitted as mursal hadith from Zuhri and he then substantiated it on the authority of Ibn Musayyib.
