حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَأَى حُلَّةً سِيَرَاءَ عِنْدَ بَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَوْ اشْتَرَيْتَ هَذِهِ فَلَبِسْتَهَا لِلنَّاسِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَلِلْوَفْدِ إِذَا قَدِمُوا عَلَيْكَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ هَذِهِ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْهَا حُلَلٌ فَأَعْطَى عُمَرَ مِنْهَا حُلَّةً فَقَالَ عُمَرُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَسَوْتَنِيهَا وَقَدْ قُلْتَ فِي حُلَّةِ عُطَارِدٍ مَا قُلْتَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنِّي لَمْ أَكْسُكَهَا لِتَلْبَسَهَا فَكَسَاهَا عُمَرُ أَخًا لَهُ مُشْرِكًا بِمَكَّةَ
مالک نے نافع سے ، انھوں نے حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ حضرت عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے مسجد کے دروازے کے قریب ( بازار میں ) ایک ریشمی حُلَہ ( ایک جیسی رشیمی چادروں کا جوڑا بکتے ہو ئے ) دیکھا ۔ انھوں نے کہا : کے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم !کتنا اچھا ہو اگر آپ یہ حلہ خریدلیں اور جمعہ کے دن لوگوں کے سامنے ( خطبہ دینے کے لیے ) اور جب کو ئی وفد آپ کے پاس آئے تو اسے زیب تن فرما ئیں ! رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرما یا : " اس کو ( دنیا میں ) صرف وہ لو گ پہنتے ہیں جن کا آخرت میں کو ئی حصہ نہیں ۔ " پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس ان میں سے کچھ ریشمی حلے آئے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان میں سے ایک حلہ حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو عطا فرما یا ۔ حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کی : اللہ کے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم آپ نے مجھے یہ حلہ پہننے کے لیے دیا ہے حالانکہ آپ نے عطارد ( بن حاجب بن ز رارہ جو مسجد کے دروازے کے باہر حلے بیچ رہے تھے ) کے حلے کے بارے میں جو فرما یا تھا ؟ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرما یا : " میں نے یہ حلہ تم کو پہننے کے لیے نہیں دیا ۔ " پھر حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے وہ حلہ مکہ میں اپنے ایک بھا ئی کو دے دیا جو مشرک تھا ۔
Ibn Umar reported that Umar b. Khattab saw (some one selling) the garments of silk at the door of the mosque, whereupon he said: Allah's Messenger, would that you buy it and wear it for the people on Friday and for (receiving) the delegations when they come to you? Upon this. Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: go who wears it has no share (of reward) in the Hereafter. Then these garments were sent to Allah s Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ), and he presented one of these silk garment to Umar. Thereupon Umar said: You make me wear (this silk garment) Whereas you said about the silk garment of Utarid (the person who had been busy selling this garment at the door of the mosque) what you had to say, whereupon Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: I have not presented you this for wearing it (but to make use of its price) ; so 'Umar presented it to his polytheist brother in Mecca.

Mu'awiya b. Suwaid b. Muqarrin reporxed: I visited al-Bara' b. 'Azib and heard him say: Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) commanded us to do seven things and forbade us to do seven (things). He commanded us to visit the sick, to follow the funeral procession, to answer the sneezer, to fulfil the vow, to help the poor, to accept the invitation and to greet everybody, and he forbade us to wear rings or gold rings, to drink in silver (vessels), and to use the saddle cloth made of red silk, and to wear garments made of Qassi material, or garments made of silk or brocade and velvet.
