حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْأَشْعَثِيُّ، وَسُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَاللَّفْظُ لِسَعِيدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، سَمِعَ جَابِرًا، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ: أَيْنَ أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنْ قُتِلْتُ؟ قَالَ: «فِي الْجَنَّةِ»، فَأَلْقَى تَمَرَاتٍ كُنَّ فِي يَدِهِ، ثُمَّ قَاتَلَ حَتَّى قُتِلَ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ سُوَيْدٍ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ

  سعید بن عمرو اشعثی اور سعید بن سعید نے ہمیں حدیث بیان کی : ۔ ۔ الفاظ سعید کے ہیں ۔ ۔ کہا : ہمیں سفیان نے عمرو سے خبر دی : انہوں نے حضرت جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کو یہ کہتے ہوئے سنا کہ ایک شخص نے عرض کی : اللہ کے رسول! اگر میں ( اللہ کی راہ میں لڑتے ہوئے ) شہید کر دیا جاؤں تو میں کہاں ہوں گا؟ فرمایا : " جنت میں ۔ " اس شخص کے ہاتھ میں جو کھجوریں تھیں اس نے ان کو پھینکا ، پھر لڑا حتی کہ شہید ہو گیا ۔ اور سوید کی روایت میں یہ ہے : ایک شخص نے اُحد کے دن نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے عرض کی ۔

It has been reported on the authority of Jabir that a man said: Messenger of Allah, where shall I be if I am killed? He replied: In Paradise. The man threw away the dates he had in his hand and fought until he was killed (i. e. he did not wait until he could finish the dates). It has been narrated on the authority of Jabir b. Samura who said: I joined the company of the Prophet ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) with my father and I heard him say: This Caliphate will not end until there have been twelve Caliphs among them. The narrator said: Then he (the Holy Prophet) said something that I could not follow. I said to my father: What did he say? He said: He has said: All of them will be from the Quraish.
