حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الْعَتَكِيُّ، وَأَبُو كَامِلٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ فُضَيْلُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ، وَاللَّفْظُ لِأَبِي الرَّبِيعِ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ زَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: كَانَ لِسُلَيْمَانَ سِتُّونَ امْرَأَةً، فَقَالَ: لَأَطُوفَنَّ عَلَيْهِنَّ اللَّيْلَةَ، فَتَحْمِلُ كُلُّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ، فَتَلِدُ كُلُّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ غُلَامًا فَارِسًا يُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، فَلَمْ تَحْمِلْ مِنْهُنَّ إِلَّا وَاحِدَةٌ، فَوَلَدَتْ نِصْفَ إِنْسَانٍ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَوْ كَانَ اسْتَثْنَى لَوَلَدَتْ كُلُّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ غُلَامًا فَارِسًا، يُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ
محمد ( بن سیرین ) نے حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کی ، انہوں نے کہا : حضرت سلیمان علیہ السلام کی ساٹھ بیویاں تھیں ، انہوں نے کہا : ( واللہ ) آج رات میں ان سب کے پاس جاؤں گا تو ان میں سے ہر بیوی حاملہ ہو گی اور ہر بیوی ( ایک شہسوار ) بچے کو جنم دے گی ، جو اللہ کی راہ میں لڑائی کرے گا ۔ تو ایک کے سوا ان میں سے کوئی حاملہ نہ ہوئی اور اس نے بھی ادھورے ( ناقص الخلقت ) بچے کو جنم دیا ۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " اگر وہ ان شاءاللہ کہتے تو ان میں سے ہر بیوی شہسوار بچے کو جنم دیتی جو اللہ کی راہ میں لڑائی کرتا
Abu Huraira reported that (Hadrat) Sulaiman had sixty wives. He (one day) said: I will visit each one of them every night, and every one of them will become pregnant and give birth to a male child who will be a horseman and fight in the cause of Allah. But (it so happened) that none of them became pregnant except one, but she gave birth to an incomplete child. Thereupon Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: Had he said Insha' Allah (if God so wills), then every one of them would have given birth to a child who would have been a horseman and fought in the cause of Allah

This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Zuhri except that in the hadith narrated on the authority of Uqail the words are: I did not take oath by (anyone else except Allah) since I heard Allah's Messenger forbidding it. nor did I speak in such terms, and the narrator did not say, on my own behalf or on behalf of someone else .

Ibn 'Umar heard Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: He who has to take an oath, he must not take oath but by Allah. The Quraish used to take oath by their fathers. So he (the Holy Prophet) said: Do not take oath by your fathers.
