و حَدَّثَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُصَلِّي صَلَاتَهُ بِاللَّيْلِ وَهِيَ مُعْتَرِضَةٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَإِذَا بَقِيَ الْوِتْرُ أَيْقَظَهَا فَأَوْتَرَتْ
قاسم بن محمد نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت کی کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم رات کو اپنی نماز پڑھتے اور وہ ( عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا ) آپ کے سامنے لیٹی ہوتی تھیں ، جب آپ کے وتر باقی رہ جاتے تو آپ انھیں جگا دیتے اور وہ وتر پڑھ لیتیں ۔
A'isha reported that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) used to offer prayer at night while she lay in front of him, and when the Witr prayer was yet to be observed, he would awaken her and she observed Witr.

Hadith 1571
A'isha, the wife of the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ), said Allah prescribed the prayer as two rak'ahs, then it was completed (to four rak'ahs) at the place of residence, but was retained in the same position in journey as it was first made obligatory.

Yahya b. Umayya said: I told 'Umar b. al-Khattab that Allah had said: You may shorten the prayer only if you fear that those who are unbelievers may afflict you (Qur'an, iv. 101), whereas the people are now safe. He replied: I wondered about it in the same way as you wonder about it, so I asked the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) about it and he said: It is an act of charity which Allah has done to you, so accept His charity.
