حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يُونُسَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَقَ حَدَّثَنِي حَارِثَةُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ الْخُزَاعِيُّ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِنًى وَالنَّاسُ أَكْثَرُ مَا كَانُوا فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ قَالَ مُسْلِم حَارِثَةُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ الْخُزَاعِيُّ هُوَ أَخُو عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ لِأُمِّهِ
زہیر نے حدیث بیان کی ، کہا : ہمیں ابو اسحاق نے حدیث سنائی ، کہا ، مجھ سے حارثہ بن وہب خزاعی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے حدیث بیان کی کہا : میں نے منیٰ میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی اقتداء میں نماز پڑھی جبکہ لوگ ( تعداد میں ) جتنے زیادہ ہوسکتے تھے ( موجود تھے ) آپ نے حجۃ الوداع کے موقع پر دو رکعت نماز پڑھائی ۔ امام مسلم ؒ نے کہا : حارثہ بن وہب خزاعی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ماں ( ملیکہ بنت جرول الخزاعیہ ) کی طرف سے عبیداللہ بن عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے بھائی تھے ۔
Wahb al-Khuza'i reported: I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) at Mina, and there was the greatest number of people, and they prayed two rak'ahs on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage. (Muslim said: Haritha b. Wahb al-Khuza'i is the brother of 'Ubaidullah b. 'Umar son of Khattab from the side of his mother.)

A'isha, the wife of the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ), said Allah prescribed the prayer as two rak'ahs, then it was completed (to four rak'ahs) at the place of residence, but was retained in the same position in journey as it was first made obligatory.

Yahya b. Umayya said: I told 'Umar b. al-Khattab that Allah had said: You may shorten the prayer only if you fear that those who are unbelievers may afflict you (Qur'an, iv. 101), whereas the people are now safe. He replied: I wondered about it in the same way as you wonder about it, so I asked the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) about it and he said: It is an act of charity which Allah has done to you, so accept His charity.
