حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فِي قَوْلهِ: {لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ} [القيامة: 16]، قَالَ: «كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعَالِجُ مِنَ التَّنْزِيلِ شِدَّةً كَانَ يُحَرِّكُ شَفَتَيْهِ»، فَقَالَ لِي ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: «أَنَا أُحَرِّكُهُمَا كَمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُحَرِّكُهُمَا» فَقَالَ سَعِيدٌ: «أَنَا أُحَرِّكُهُمَا كَمَا كَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يُحَرِّكُهُمَا فَحَرَّكَ شَفَتَيْهِ» فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى: {لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُ} [القيامة: 17] وَقُرْآنَهُ قَالَ: جَمْعَهُ فِي صَدْرِكَ ثُمَّ تَقْرَؤُهُ {فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَاهُ فَاتَّبِعْ قُرْآنَهُ} [القيامة: 18] قَالَ: فَاسْتَمِعْ وَأَنْصِتْ ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا أَنْ تَقْرَأَهُ قَالَ: «فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ اسْتَمَعَ فَإِذَا انْطَلَقَ جِبْرِيلُ قَرَأَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمَا أَقْرَأَهُ»
۔ ( جریر بن عبد الحمید کے بجائے ) ابو عوانہ نے موسیٰ بن ابی عائشہ سے ، انہوں نے سعید بن جبیر سے اور انہوں حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہ سے اللہ کے فرمان : ’’آپ اس ( وحی کو پڑھنے ) کے لیے اپنی زبان کو نہ ہلائیں کہ آپ اسے جلد سیکھ لیں ‘ ‘ کے بارے میں روایت کی کہ نبی اکرمﷺ وحی کے نزول کی وجہ سے بہت مشقت برداشت کرتے ، آپ ( ساتھ ساتھ ) اپنے ہونٹ ہلاتے تھے ( ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہ نے مجھے کہا : میں تمہیں رسول اللہﷺ کی طرح ہونٹ ہلا کر دکھاتا ہوں ، تو انہوں نے اپنے ہونٹوں کو حرکت دی اور سعید بن جبیر نے ( اپنے شاگرد سے ) کہا : میں اپنے ہونٹوں کو اسی طرح ہلاتا ہوں جس طرح ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہ انہیں ہلاتے تھے ، پھر اپنے ہونٹ ہلائے ) اس پر اللہ تعالیٰ یہ آیت اتاری : ’’ آپ اس ( وحی کو پڑھنے ) کے لیے اپنی زبان کو نہ ہلائیں کہ آپ اسے جلد سیکھ لیں ۔ بےشک ہمارا ذمہ ہے اس کو ( آپ کے دل میں ) سمیٹ کر رکھنا اور ( آپ کی زبان سے ) اس کی قراءت ۔ ‘ ‘ کہا : آپ کے سینے میں اسے جمع کرنا ، پھر یہ کہ آپ اسے پڑھیں ۔ ’’ پھر جب ہم پڑھیں ( فرشتہ ہماری طرف سے تلاوت کرے ) تو آپ اس کے پڑھنے کی اتباع کریں ۔ ‘ ‘ ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا : یعنی اس کو غور سےسنیں اور خاموش رہیں ، پھر ہمارے ذمے ہے کہ آپ اس کی قراءت کریں ۔ ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا : اس کے بعد جب آپ کے پاس جبرائیل رضی اللہ عنہ ( وحی لے کر ) آتے تو آپ غور سے سنتے اور جب جبرائیل رضی اللہ عنہ چلے جاتے تواسے آپ اسی طرح پڑھتے جس طرح انہوں نے آپ کو پڑھایا ہوتا ۔
Ibn Abbas reported with regard to the words: Do not move thy tongue there with to make haste, that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) felt it hard and he moved his lips. Ibn 'Abbas said to me (Sa'id b. Jubair): I move them just as the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) moved them. Then said Sa'id: I move them just as Ibn 'Abbas moved them, and he moved his lips. Allah, the Exalted, revealed this: Do not move your tongue therewith to make haste. It is with US that its collection rests and its recital (al-Qur'an, ixxv. 16). He said: Its preservation in your heart and then your recital. So when We recite it, follow its recital. He said: Listen to it, and be silent and then it rests with Us that you recite it. So when Gabriel came to the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ), he listened to him attentively, and when Gabriel went away, the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) recited as he (Gabriel) had recited it.

Abu Mahdhura said that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) taught him Adhan like this: Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest; I testify that there is no god but Allah, I testify that there is no god but Allah; I testify that Muhammad Is the Messenger of Allah, I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and it should be again repeated: I testify that there is no god but Allah, I testify that there is no god but Allah; I testify that Muhammad Is the Messenger of Allah, I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Come to the prayer (twice). Come to success (twice). Ishaq added: Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest; there Is no god but Allah.
