THE BOOK OF ADHAN (SUFA-TUS-SALAT)

ہم سے موسیٰ بن اسماعیل نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے ہمام بن یحییٰ نے یحییٰ بن ابی کثیر سے بیان کیا، انہوں نے ابوسلمہ بن عبدالرحمٰن سے، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ   میں ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا۔ میں نے عرض کی کہ فلاں نخلستان میں کیوں نہ چلیں سیر بھی کریں گے اور کچھ باتیں بھی کریں گے۔ چنانچہ آپ تشریف لے چلے۔ ابوسلمہ نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے راہ میں کہا کہ شب قدر سے متعلق آپ نے اگر کچھ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا ہے تو اسے بیان کیجئے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے رمضان کے پہلے عشرے میں اعتکاف کیا اور ہم بھی آپ کے ساتھ اعتکاف میں بیٹھ گئے، لیکن جبرائیل علیہ السلام نے آ کر بتایا کہ آپ جس کی تلاش میں ہیں ( شب قدر ) وہ آگے ہے۔ چنانچہ آپ نے دوسرے عشرے میں بھی اعتکاف کیا اور آپ کے ساتھ ہم نے بھی۔ جبرائیل علیہ السلام دوبارہ آئے اور فرمایا کہ آپ جس کی تلاش میں ہیں وہ ( رات ) آگے ہے۔ پھر آپ نے بیسویں رمضان کی صبح کو خطبہ دیا۔ آپ نے فرمایا کہ جس نے میرے ساتھ اعتکاف کیا ہو وہ دوبارہ کرے۔ کیونکہ شب قدر مجھے معلوم ہو گئی لیکن میں بھول گیا اور وہ آخری عشرہ کی طاق راتوں میں ہے اور میں نے خود کو کیچڑ میں سجدہ کرتے دیکھا۔ مسجد کی چھت کھجور کی ڈالیوں کی تھی۔ مطلع بالکل صاف تھا کہ اتنے میں ایک پتلا سا بادل کا ٹکڑا آیا اور برسنے لگا۔ پھر نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہم کو نماز پڑھائی اور میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی پیشانی اور ناک پر کیچڑ کا اثر دیکھا۔ آپ کا خواب سچا ہو گیا۔

Narrated Abu Salama: Once I went to Abu- Sa`id Al-Khudri and asked him, Won't you come with us to the date-palm trees to have a talk? So Abu Sa`id went out and I asked him, Tell me what you heard from the Prophet about the Night of Qadr. Abu Sa`id replied, Once Allah's Apostle performed I`tikaf (seclusion) on the first ten days of the month of Ramadan and we did the same with him. Gabriel came to him and said, 'The night you are looking for is ahead of you.' So the Prophet performed the I`tikaf in the middle (second) ten days of the month of Ramadan and we too performed I`tikaf with him. Gabriel came to him and said, 'The night which you are looking for is ahead of you.' In the morning of the 20th of Ramadan the Prophet delivered a sermon saying, 'Whoever has performed I`tikaf with me should continue it. I have been shown the Night of Qadr , but have forgotten its date, but it is in the odd nights of the last ten nights. I saw in my dream that I was prostrating in mud and water.' In those days the roof of the mosque was made of branches of date-palm trees. At that time the sky was clear and no cloud was visible, but suddenly a cloud came and it rained. The Prophet led us in the prayer and I saw the traces of mud on the forehead and on the nose of Allah's Apostle. So it was the confirmation of that dream.
