حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي التَّيْمِيُّ ، عَنْ بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، قَالَ : صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ الْعَتَمَةَ ، فَقَرَأَ : إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ سورة الانشقاق آية 1 ، فَسَجَدَ فَقُلْتُ : مَا هَذِهِ ؟ قَالَ : سَجَدْتُ بِهَا خَلْفَ أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَا أَزَالُ أَسْجُدُ بِهَا حَتَّى أَلْقَاهُ .
ہم سے مسدد بن مسرہد نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے یزید بن زریع نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے تیمی نے ابوبکر سے، انہوں نے ابورافع سے، انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ عشاء پڑھی، آپ نے «إذا السماء انشقت» اور سجدہ کیا۔ اس پر میں نے کہا کہ یہ سجدہ کیسا ہے؟ آپ نے جواب دیا کہ اس سورت میں میں نے ابوالقاسم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پیچھے سجدہ کیا تھا۔ اس لیے میں بھی ہمیشہ اس میں سجدہ کروں گا، یہاں تک کہ آپ سے مل جاؤں۔
Narrated Abu Rafi`: Once I prayed the `Isha' prayer with Abu Huraira and he recited, Idha s-samaa'u n-shaqqat (84) and prostrated. I said, What is that? He said, I prostrated behind Abul-Qasim, (the Prophet) (when he recited that Sura) and I will go on doing it till I meet him.

Narrated Salim bin `Abdullah: My father said, Allah's Apostle used to raise both his hands up to the level of his shoulders when opening the prayer; and on saying the Takbir for bowing. And on raising his head from bowing he used to do the same and then say Sami`a l-lahu liman hamidah, Rabbana wa laka l-hamd. And he did not do that (i.e. raising his hands) in prostrations.

Ibn `Umar said: The Prophet used to do the same.
