حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جُوَيْرِيَةُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : سَابَقَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ الْخَيْلِ ، فَأُرْسِلَتِ الَّتِي ضُمِّرَتْ مِنْهَا وَأَمَدُهَا إِلَى الْحَفْيَاءِ إِلَى ثَنِيَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ وَالَّتِي لَمْ تُضَمَّرْ أَمَدُهَا ثَنِيَّةُ الْوَدَاعِ إِلَى مَسْجِدِ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ وَأَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ كَانَ فِيمَنْ سَابَقَ .
ہم سے موسیٰ بن اسماعیل نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے جویریہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے نافع نے اور ان سے عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے گھوڑوں کی دوڑ کرائی اور وہ گھوڑے چھوڑے گئے جو گھوڑ دوڑ کیلئے تیار کئے گئے تھے تو ان کے دوڑنے کا میدان مقام حفیاء سے ثنیۃ الوداع تک تھا اور جو تیار نہیں کئے گئے تھے ان کے دوڑنے کا میدان ثنیۃ الوداع سے مسجد بنی زریق تک تھا اور عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ بھی ان لوگوں میں تھے جنہوں نے مقابلے میں حصہ لیا تھا۔
Narrated Nafi`: `Abdullah said, The Prophet arranged for a horse race, and the prepared horses were given less food for a few days before the race to win the race, and were allowed to run from Al-Hafya to Thaniyat-al- Wada`, and the unprepared horses were allowed to run between Thaniyat-al-Wada` and the mosque of Bani Zuraiq, `Abdullah was one of those who participated in the race.

Narrated Tariq bin Shihab: A Jew said to `Umar, O Chief of the Believers, if this verse: 'This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favors upon you, and have chosen for you, Islam as your religion.'
