حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تَأْخُذَ أُمَّتِي بِأَخْذِ الْقُرُونِ قَبْلَهَا شِبْرًا بِشِبْرٍ وَذِرَاعًا بِذِرَاعٍ ، فَقِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَفَارِسَ ، وَالرُّومِ ، فَقَالَ : وَمَنِ النَّاسُ إِلَّا أُولَئِكَ .
ہم سے احمد بن یونس نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابن ابی ذئب نے بیان کیا، ان سے مقبری نے اور ان سے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”قیامت اس وقت تک قائم نہیں ہو گی جب تک میری امت اس طرح پچھلی امتوں کے مطابق نہیں ہو جائے گی جیسے بالشت بالشت کے اور ہاتھ ہاتھ کے برابر ہوتا ہے۔“ پوچھا گیا: یا رسول اللہ! اگلی امتوں سے کون مراد ہیں، پارسی اور نصرانی؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”پھر اور کون۔“
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, The Hour will not be established till my followers copy the deeds of the previous nations and follow them very closely, span by span, and cubit by cubit (i.e., inch by inch). It was said, O Allah's Apostle! Do you mean by those (nations) the Persians and the Byzantines? The Prophet said, Who can it be other than they?

Narrated Tariq bin Shihab: A Jew said to `Umar, O Chief of the Believers, if this verse: 'This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favors upon you, and have chosen for you, Islam as your religion.'
