حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ عَمْرٌو ، حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءٌ ، قَالَ : أَعْتَمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْعِشَاءِ ، فَخَرَجَ عُمَرُ ، فَقَالَ : الصَّلَاةَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، رَقَدَ النِّسَاءُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ ، فَخَرَجَ وَرَأْسُهُ يَقْطُرُ ، يَقُولُ : لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي أَوْ عَلَى النَّاسِ ، وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ أَيْضًا : عَلَى أُمَّتِي ، لَأَمَرْتُهُمْ بِالصَّلَاةِ هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ ، قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَخَّرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ ، فَجَاءَ عُمَرُ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، رَقَدَ النِّسَاءُ وَالْوِلْدَانُ ، فَخَرَجَ وَهُوَ يَمْسَحُ الْمَاءَ عَنْ شِقِّهِ ، يَقُولُ : إِنَّهُ لَلْوَقْتُ لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي ، وَقَالَ عَمْرٌو ، حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءٌ ، لَيْسَ فِيهِ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَمَّا عَمْرٌو ، فَقَال : رَأْسُهُ يَقْطُرُ ، وَقَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ : يَمْسَحُ الْمَاءَ عَنْ شِقِّهِ ، وَقَالَ عَمْرٌو : لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي ، وَقَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ : إِنَّهُ لَلْوَقْتُ لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي ، وَقَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
ہم سے علی بن عبداللہ مدینی نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے سفیان بن عیینہ نے کہ عمرو بن دینار نے کہا، ہم سے عطاء بن ابی رباح نے بیان کیا کہ ایک رات ایسا ہوا نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عشاء کی نماز میں دیر کی۔ آخر عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نکلے اور کہنے لگے یا رسول اللہ! نماز پڑھئے عورتیں اور بچے سونے لگے۔ اس وقت آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ( حجرے سے ) برآمد ہوئے آپ کے سر سے پانی ٹپک رہا تھا ( غسل کر کے باہر تشریف لائے ) فرمانے لگے اگر میری امت پر یا یوں فرمایا کہ لوگوں پر دشوار نہ ہوتا۔ سفیان بن عیینہ نے یوں کہا کہ میری امت پر دشوار نہ ہوتا تو میں اس وقت ( اتنی رات گئے ) ان کو یہ نماز پڑھنے کا حکم دیتا۔ اور ابن جریج نے ( اسی سند سے سفیان سے، انہوں نے ( ابن جریج سے ) انہوں نے عطاء سے روایت کی، انہوں نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس نماز ( یعنی عشاء کی نماز میں دیر کی۔ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ آئے اور کہنے لگے یا رسول اللہ! عورتیں بچے سو گئے۔ یہ سن کر آپ باہر تشریف لائے، اپنے سر کی ایک جانب سے پانی پونچھ رہے تھے، فرما رہے تھے اس نماز کا ( عمدہ ) وقت یہی ہے اگر میری امت پر شاق نہ ہو۔ عمرو بن دینار نے اس حدیث میں یوں نقل کیا۔ ہم سے عطاء نے بیان کیا اور ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کا ذکر نہیں کیا لیکن عمرو نے یوں کہا آپ کے سر سے پانی ٹپک رہا تھا۔ اور ابن جریج کی روایت میں یوں ہے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سر کے ایک جانب سے پانی پونچھ رہے تھے۔ اور عمرو نے کہا آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اگر میری امت پر شاق نہ ہوتا۔ اور ابن جریج نے کہا آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اگر میری امت پر شاق نہ ہوتا تو اس نماز کا ( افضل ) وقت تو یہی ہے۔ اور ابراہیم بن المنذر ( امام بخاری رحمہ اللہ کے شیخ ) نے کہا ہم سے معن بن عیسیٰ نے بیان کیا، کہا مجھ سے محمد بن مسلم نے، انہوں نے عمرو بن دینار سے، انہوں نے عطاء بن ابی رباح سے، انہوں نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے، انہوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پھر یہی حدیث نقل کی۔
Narrated 'Ata: One night the Prophet delayed the `Isha' prayer whereupon `Umar went to him and said, The prayer, O Allah's Apostle! The women and children had slept. The Prophet came out with water dropping from his head, and said, Were I not afraid that it would be hard for my followers (or for the people), I would order them to pray `Isha prayer at this time. (Various versions of this Hadith are given by the narrators with slight differences in expression but not in content).

Were it not for some men who dislike to be left behind and for whom I do not have means of conveyance, I would not stay away (from any Holy Battle). Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah: We were in the company of Allah's Apostle and we assumed the state of Ihram of Hajj and arrived at Mecca on the fourth of Dhul-Hijja. The Prophet ordered us to perform the Tawaf around the Ka`ba and (Sa`i) between As-Safa and Al-Marwa and use our lhram just for `Umra, and finish the state of Ihram unless we had our Hadi with us. None of us had the Hadi with him except the Prophet and Talha. `Ali came from Yemen and brought the Hadi with him. `Ali said, 'I had assumed the state of Ihram with the same intention as that with which Allah's Apostle had assumed it. The people said, How can we proceed to Mina and our male organs are dribbling? Allah's Apostle said, If I had formerly known what I came to know latterly, I would not have brought the Hadi, and had there been no Hadi with me, I would have finished my Ihram. Suraqa (bin Malik) met the Prophet while he was throwing pebbles at the Jamrat-Al-`Aqaba, and asked, O Allah's Apostle! Is this (permitted) for us only? The Prophet replied. No, it is forever `Aisha had arrived at Mecca while she was menstruating, therefore the Prophet ordered her to perform all the ceremonies of Hajj except the Tawaf around the Ka`ba, and not to perform her prayers unless and until she became clean . When they encamped at Al-Batha, `Aisha said, O Allah's Apostle! You are proceeding after performing both Hajj and `Umra while I am proceeding with Hajj only? So the Prophet ordered `Abdur-Rahman bin Abu Bakr As-Siddiq to go with her to at-Tan`im, and so she performed the `Umra in Dhul-Hijja after the days of the Hajj.
