حَدَّثَنَا أَصْبَغُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : مَا بَعَثَ اللَّهُ مِنْ نَبِيٍّ ، وَلَا اسْتَخْلَفَ مِنْ خَلِيفَةٍ إِلَّا كَانَتْ لَهُ بِطَانَتَانِ : بِطَانَةٌ تَأْمُرُهُ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَحُضُّهُ عَلَيْهِ ، وَبِطَانَةٌ تَأْمُرُهُ بِالشَّرِّ وَتَحُضُّهُ عَلَيْهِ ، فَالْمَعْصُومُ مَنْ عَصَمَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى ، وَقَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ بِهَذَا ، وَعَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَتِيقٍ ، وَمُوسَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، مِثْلَهُ ، وَقَالَ شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَوْلَهُ ، وَقَالَ الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، وَمُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ سَلَّامٍ : حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ ، وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَوْلَهُ ، وَقَالَ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي صَفْوَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
ہم سے اصبغ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو ابن وہب نے خبر دی، انہیں یونس نے خبر دی، انہیں ابن شہاب نے، انہیں ابوسلمہ نے اور انہیں ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”اللہ نے جب بھی کوئی نبی بھیجا یا کسی کو خلیفہ بنایا تو اس کے ساتھ دو رفیق تھے ایک تو انہیں نیکی کے لیے کہتا اور اس پر ابھارتا اور دوسرا انہیں برائی کے لیے کہتا اور اس پر ابھارتا۔ پس معصوم وہ ہے جسے اللہ بچائے رکھے۔“ اور سلیمان بن بلال نے اس حدیث کو یحییٰ بن سعید انصاری سے روایت کیا، کہا مجھ کو ابن شہاب نے خبر دی ( اس کو اسماعیلی نے وصل کیا ) اور ابن ابی عتیق اور موسیٰ بن عقبہ سے بھی، ان دونوں نے ابن شہاب سے یہی حدیث ( اس کو بیہقی نے وصل کیا ) اور شعیب بن ابی حمزہ نے زہری سے یوں روایت کی، مجھ سے ابوسلمہ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے ان کا قول ( یعنی حدیث کوث موقوفاً نقل کیا ) اور امام اوزاعی اور معاویہ بن سلام نے کہا، مجھ سے زہری نے بیان کیا، کہا مجھ سے ابوسلمہ بن عبدالرحمٰن نے، انہوں نے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے، انہوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اور عبداللہ بن عبدالرحمٰن بن ابی حسین اور سعید بن زیاد نے اس کو ابوسلمہ سے روایت کیا ‘، انہوں نے ابوسعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے موقوفاً ( یعنی ابوسعید کا قول ) اور عبداللہ بن ابی جعفر نے کہا، مجھ سے صفوان بن سلیم نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے ابوسلمہ سے، انہوں نے ابوایوب سے، کہا میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا۔
Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: The Prophet said, Allah never sends a prophet or gives the Caliphate to a Caliph but that he (the prophet or the Caliph) has two groups of advisors: A group advising him to do good and exhorts him to do it, and the other group advising him to do evil and exhorts him to do it. But the protected person (against such evil advisors) is the one protected by Allah.'

Narrated Muhammad bin Jubair bin Mut`im: That while he was included in a delegation of Quraish staying with Muawiya, Muawiya heard that `Abdullah bin `Amr had said that there would be a king from Qahtan tribe, whereupon he became very angry. He stood up, and after glorifying and praising Allah as He deserved, said, To proceed, I have come to know that some of you men are narrating things which are neither in Allah's Book, nor has been mentioned by Allah's Apostle . Such people are the ignorant among you. Beware of such vain desires that mislead those who have them. I have heard Allah's Apostle saying, 'This matter (of the caliphate) will remain with the Quraish, and none will rebel against them, but Allah will throw him down on his face as long as they stick to the rules and regulations of the religion (Islam).'
