حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : أُتِيَ عُمَرُ بِامْرَأَةٍ تَشِمُ ، فَقَامَ ، فَقَالَ : أَنْشُدُكُمْ بِاللَّهِ مَنْ سَمِعَ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْوَشْمِ ؟ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : فَقُمْتُ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنَا سَمِعْتُ ، قَالَ : مَا سَمِعْتَ ؟ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : لَا تَشِمْنَ وَلَا تَسْتَوْشِمْنَ .
ہم سے زہیر بن حرب نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے جریر نے بیان کیا، ان سے عمارہ نے، ان سے ابوزرعہ نے اور ان سے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس ایک عورت لائی گئی جو گودنے کا کام کرتی تھی۔ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کھڑے ہو گئے ( اور اس وقت موجود صحابہ سے ) کہا میں تمہیں اللہ کا واسطہ دیتا ہوں کسی نے کچھ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے گودنے کے متعلق سنا ہے۔ ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ میں نے کھڑے ہو کر عرض کیا: امیرالمؤمنین! میں نے سنا ہے۔ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے پوچھا کیا سنا ہے؟ ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا ہے کہ گودنے کا کام نہ کرو اور نہ گدواؤ۔
Narrated Abu Huraira: A woman who used to practise tattooing was brought to `Umar. `Umar got up and said, I beseech you by Allah, which of you heard the Prophet saying something about tattooing? l got up and said, 0 chief of the Believers! l heard something. He said, What did you hear? I said, I heard the Prophet (addressing the ladies), saying, 'Do not practise tattooing and do not get yourselves tattooed.'

Narrated Abu Bakra: The solar eclipse occurred while we were sitting with the Prophet He got up dragging his garment (on the ground) hurriedly till he reached the mosque The people turned (to the mosque) and he offered a two-rak`at prayer whereupon the eclipse was over and he traced us and said, The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah, so if you see a thing like this (eclipse) then offer the prayer and invoke Allah till He remove that state.

Narrated Abu Juhaifa: I saw Bilal bringing a short spear (or stick) and fixing it in the ground, and then he proclaimed the Iqama of the prayer, and I saw Allah's Apostle coming out, wearing a cloak with its sleeves rolled up. He then offered a two-rak`at prayer while facing the stick, and I saw the people and animals passing in front of him beyond the stick.
