حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ ، وَعَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ ، قَالَا : لَمَّا نَزَلَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَفِقَ يَطْرَحُ خَمِيصَةً لَهُ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ ، فَإِذَا اغْتَمَّ كَشَفَهَا عَنْ وَجْهِهِ ، فَقَالَ وَهُوَ كَذَلِكَ لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْيَهُودِ وَالنَّصَارَى اتَّخَذُوا ، قُبُورَ أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ مَسَاجِدَ يُحَذِّرُ مَا صَنَعُوا .
مجھ سے یحییٰ بن بکیر نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے لیث بن سعد نے بیان کیا، ان سے عقیل نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابن شہاب نے بیان کیا کہ مجھے عبیداللہ بن عبداللہ بن عتبہ نے خبر دی، ان سے عائشہ اور عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہم نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پر جب آخری مرض طاری ہوا تو آپ اپنی کملی چہرہ مبارک پر ڈالتے تھے اور جب سانس گھٹنے لگتا تو چہرہ کھول لیتے اور اسی حالت میں فرماتے ”یہود و نصاریٰ اللہ تعالیٰ کی رحمت سے دور ہو گئے کہ انہوں نے اپنے انبیاء کی قبروں کو سجدہ گاہ بنا لیا۔“ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ان کے عمل بد سے ( مسلمانوں کو ) ڈرا رہے تھے۔
Narrated `Aisha and `Abdullah bin `Abbas: When the disease of Allah's Apostle got aggravated, he covered his face with a Khamisa, but when he became short of breath, he would remove it from his face and say, It is like that! May Allah curse the Jews Christians because they took the graves of their prophets as places of worship. By that he warned his follower of imitating them, by doing that which they did.

Narrated Abu Bakra: The solar eclipse occurred while we were sitting with the Prophet He got up dragging his garment (on the ground) hurriedly till he reached the mosque The people turned (to the mosque) and he offered a two-rak`at prayer whereupon the eclipse was over and he traced us and said, The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah, so if you see a thing like this (eclipse) then offer the prayer and invoke Allah till He remove that state.

Narrated Abu Juhaifa: I saw Bilal bringing a short spear (or stick) and fixing it in the ground, and then he proclaimed the Iqama of the prayer, and I saw Allah's Apostle coming out, wearing a cloak with its sleeves rolled up. He then offered a two-rak`at prayer while facing the stick, and I saw the people and animals passing in front of him beyond the stick.
