حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أُمِّ قَيْسٍ بِنْتِ مِحْصَنٍ قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : عَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذَا الْعُودِ الْهِنْدِيِّ ، فَإِنَّ فِيهِ سَبْعَةَ أَشْفِيَةٍ : يُسْتَعَطُ بِهِ مِنَ الْعُذْرَةِ ، وَيُلَدُّ بِهِ مِنْ ذَاتِ الْجَنْبِ .
ہم سے صدقہ بن فضل نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو ابن عیینہ نے خبر دی، کہا میں نے زہری سے سنا، انہوں نے عبیداللہ بن عبداللہ سے کہ ام قیس بنت محصن رضی اللہ عنہا نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا تم لوگ اس عود ہندی ( «كست» ) کا استعمال کیا کرو کیونکہ اس میں سات بیماریوں کا علاج ہے۔ حلق کے درد میں اسے ناک میں ڈالا جاتا ہے، پسلی کے درد میں چبائی جاتی ہے۔
Narrated Um Qais bint Mihsan: I heard the Prophet saying, Treat with the Indian incense, for it has healing for seven diseases; it is to be sniffed by one having throat trouble, and to be put into one side of the mouth of one suffering from pleurisy.
