حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْغَسِيلِ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : إِنْ كَانَ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْ أَدْوِيَتِكُمْ أَوْ يَكُونُ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْ أَدْوِيَتِكُمْ خَيْرٌ : فَفِي شَرْطَةِ مِحْجَمٍ ، أَوْ شَرْبَةِ عَسَلٍ ، أَوْ لَذْعَةٍ بِنَارٍ ، تُوَافِقُ الدَّاءَ وَمَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَكْتَوِيَ .
ہم سے ابونعیم نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے عبدالرحمٰن بن غسیل نے بیان کیا، ان سے عاصم بن عمیر بن قتادہ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نے جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما سے سنا، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اگر تمہاری دواؤں میں کسی میں بھلائی ہے یا یہ کہا کہ تمہاری ( ان ) دواؤں میں بھلائی ہے۔ تو پچھنا لگوانے یا شہد پینے اور آگ سے داغنے میں ہے اگر وہ مرض کے مطابق ہو اور میں آگ سے داغنے کو پسند نہیں کرتا ہوں۔
Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah: I heard the Prophet saying, If there is any healing in your medicines, then it is in cupping, a gulp of honey or branding with fire (cauterization) that suits the ailment, but I don't like to be (cauterized) branded with fire.
