حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَقَّاصٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : الْأَعْمَالُ بِالنِّيَّةِ وَلِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مَا نَوَى ، فَمَنْ كَانَتْ هِجْرَتُهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ فَهِجْرَتُهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ، وَمَنْ كَانَتْ هِجْرَتُهُ لدُنْيَا يُصِيبُهَا أَوِ امْرَأَةٍ يَتَزَوَّجُهَا فَهِجْرَتُهُ إِلَى مَا هَاجَرَ إِلَيْهِ .
ہم سے عبداللہ بن مسلمہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو امام مالک رحمہ اللہ نے خبر دی، انہوں نے یحییٰ بن سعید سے، انہوں نے محمد بن ابراہیم سے، انہوں نے علقمہ بن وقاص سے، انہوں نے عمر رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا عمل نیت ہی سے صحیح ہوتے ہیں ( یا نیت ہی کے مطابق ان کا بدلا ملتا ہے ) اور ہر آدمی کو وہی ملے گا جو نیت کرے گا۔ پس جو کوئی اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی رضا کے لیے ہجرت کرے اس کی ہجرت اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی طرف ہو گی اور جو کوئی دنیا کمانے کے لیے یا کسی عورت سے شادی کرنے کے لیے ہجرت کرے گا تو اس کی ہجرت ان ہی کاموں کے لیے ہو گی۔
Narrated 'Umar bin Al-Khattab: Allah's Apostle said, The reward of deeds depends upon the intention and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for Allah and His Apostle, then his emigration was for Allah and His Apostle. And whoever emigrated for worldly benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration was for what he emigrated for.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: Allah's Apostle said: Islam is based on (the following) five (principles): 1. To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah's Apostle. 2.
