حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ : كَيْفَ كَانَتْ قِرَاءَةُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ فَقَالَ : كَانَتْ مَدًّا ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ : بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ ، يَمُدُّ بِبِسْمِ اللَّهِ ، وَيَمُدُّ بِالرَّحْمَنِ ، وَيَمُدُّ بِالرَّحِيمِ .
ہم سے عمرو بن عاصم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ہمام نے بیان کیا، ان سے قتادہ نے کہ انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا گیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی قرآت کیسی تھی؟ انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ مد کے ساتھ۔ پھر آپ نے «بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم» پڑھا اور کہا کہ «بسم الله» ( میں اللہ کی لام ) کو مد کے ساتھ پڑھتے «الرحمن» ( میں میم ) کو مد کے ساتھ پڑھتے اور «الرحيم.» ( میں حاء کو ) مد کے ساتھ پڑھتے۔
Narrated Qatada: Anas was asked, How was the recitation (of the Qur'an) of the Prophet?' He replied, It was characterized by the prolongation of certain sounds. Narrated Abu `Uthman: I was informed that Gabriel came to the Prophet while Um Salama was with him. Gabriel started talking (to the Prophet). Then the Prophet asked Um Salama, Who is this?
