حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ امْرَأَةٌ ، فَقَالَتْ : إِنَّهَا قَدْ وَهَبَتْ نَفْسَهَا لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : مَا لِي فِي النِّسَاءِ مِنْ حَاجَةٍ ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ : زَوِّجْنِيهَا ، قَالَ : أَعْطِهَا ثَوْبًا ، قَالَ : لَا أَجِدُ ، قَالَ : أَعْطِهَا وَلَوْ خَاتَمًا مِنْ حَدِيدٍ فَاعْتَلَّ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ : مَا مَعَكَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ ؟ قَالَ : كَذَا وَكَذَا . قَالَ : فَقَدْ زَوَّجْتُكَهَا بِمَا مَعَكَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ .

ہم سے عمرو بن عون نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے حماد بن زید نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابوحازم نے بیان کیا، ان سے سہل بن سعد رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ   ایک خاتون نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئی اور کہا کہ انہوں نے اپنے آپ کو اللہ اور اس کے رسول ( کی رضا ) کے لیے ہبہ کر دیا ہے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اب مجھے عورتوں سے نکاح کی کوئی حاجت نہیں ہے۔ ایک صاحب نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! ان کا نکاح مجھ سے کر دیں۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ پھر انہیں ( مہر میں ) ایک کپڑا لا کے دے دو۔ انہوں نے عرض کیا کہ مجھے تو یہ بھی میسر نہیں ہے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا پھر انہیں کچھ تو دو ایک لوہے کی انگوٹھی ہی سہی۔ وہ اس پر بہت پریشان ہوئے ( کیونکہ ان کے پاس یہ بھی نہ تھی ) ۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اچھا تم کو قرآن کتنا یاد ہے؟ انہوں نے عرض کیا کہ فلاں فلاں سورتیں۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ پھر میں نے تمہارا ان سے قرآن کی ان سورتوں پر نکاح کیا جو تمہیں یاد ہیں۔

Narrated Sahl bin Sa`d: A lady came to the Prophet and declared that she had decided to offer herself to Allah and His Apostle. The Prophet said, I am not in need of women. A man said (to the Prophet) Please marry her to me. The Prophet said (to him), Give her a garment. The man said, I cannot afford it. The Prophet said, Give her anything, even if it were an iron ring. The man apologized again. The Prophet then asked him, What do you know by heart of the Qur'an? He replied, I know such-andsuch portion of the Qur'an (by heart). The Prophet said, Then I marry her to you for that much of the Qur'an which you know by heart.

Hadith 4980

Narrated Abu `Uthman: I was informed that Gabriel came to the Prophet while Um Salama was with him. Gabriel started talking (to the Prophet). Then the Prophet asked Um Salama, Who is this? She replied, He is Dihya (al-Kalbi). When Gabriel had left, Um Salama said, By Allah, I did not take him for anybody other than him (i.e. Dihya) till I heard the sermon of the Prophet wherein he informed about the news of Gabriel. The subnarrator asked Abu `Uthman: From whom have you heard that? Abu `Uthman said: From Usama bin Zaid.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, Every Prophet was given miracles because of which people believed, but what I have been given, is Divine Inspiration which Allah has revealed to me. So I hope that my followers will outnumber the followers of the other Prophets on the Day of Resurrection.
