حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ أَيْمَنَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُومُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِلَى شَجَرَةٍ أَوْ نَخْلَةٍ ، فَقَالَتْ : امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ أَوْ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَلَا نَجْعَلُ لَكَ مِنْبَرًا ، قَالَ : إِنْ شِئْتُمْ فَجَعَلُوا لَهُ مِنْبَرًا فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ دُفِعَ إِلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَصَاحَتِ النَّخْلَةُ صِيَاحَ الصَّبِيِّ ، ثُمَّ نَزَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَضَمَّهُ إِلَيْهِ تَئِنُّ أَنِينَ الصَّبِيِّ الَّذِي يُسَكَّنُ قَالَ : كَانَتْ تَبْكِي عَلَى مَا كَانَتْ تَسْمَعُ مِنَ الذِّكْرِ عِنْدَهَا .
ہم سے ابونعیم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے عبدالواحد بن ایمن نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ میں نے اپنے والد سے سنا اور انہوں نے جابر بن عبداللہ سے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جمعہ کے دن خطبہ کے لیے ایک درخت ( کے تنے ) کے پاس کھڑے ہوتے یا ( بیان کیا کہ ) کھجور کے درخت کے پاس۔ پھر ایک انصاری عورت نے یا کسی صحابی نے کہا: یا رسول اللہ! کیوں نہ ہم آپ کے لیے ایک منبر تیار کر دیں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اگر تمہارا جی چاہے تو کر دو۔ چنانچہ انہوں نے آپ کے لیے منبر تیار کر دیا۔ جب جمعہ کا دن ہوا تو آپ اس منبر پر تشریف لے گئے۔ اس پر اس کھجور کے تنے سے بچے کی طرح رونے کی آواز آنے لگی۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم منبر سے اترے اور اسے اپنے گلے سے لگا لیا۔ جس طرح بچوں کو چپ کرنے کے لیے لوریاں دیتے ہیں۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے بھی اسی طرح اسے چپ کرایا۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ یہ تنا اس لیے رو رہا تھا کہ وہ اللہ کے اس ذکر کو سنا کرتا تھا جو اس کے قریب ہوتا تھا۔
Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah: The Prophet used to stand by a tree or a date-palm on Friday. Then an Ansari woman or man said. O Allah's Apostle! Shall we make a pulpit for you? He replied, If you wish. So they made a pulpit for him and when it was Friday, he proceeded towards the pulpit (for delivering the sermon). The datepalm cried like a child! The Prophet descended (the pulpit) and embraced it while it continued moaning like a child being quietened. The Prophet said, It was crying for (missing) what it used to hear of religious knowledge given near to it.

Narrated Kulaib: I was told by the Rabiba (i.e. daughter of the wife of the Prophet) who, I think, was Zainab, that the Prophet (forbade the utensils (of wine called) Ad-Dubba, Al-Hantam, Al-Muqaiyar and Al-Muzaffat. Those who were the best in the pre-lslamic period, are also the best in Islam if they comprehend religious knowledge. You see that the best amongst the people in this respect (i.e. ambition of ruling) are those who hate it most.
