حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ كَثِيرٍ أَبُو غَسَّانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَفْصٍ وَاسْمُهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ أَخُو أَبِي عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَلَاءِ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ نَافِعًا ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ إِلَى جِذْعٍ فَلَمَّا اتَّخَذَ الْمِنْبَرَ تَحَوَّلَ إِلَيْهِ فَحَنَّ الْجِذْعُ فَأَتَاهُ فَمَسَحَ يَدَهُ عَلَيْهِ ، وَقَالَ عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، بِهَذَا وَرَوَاهُ أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
ہم سے محمد بن مثنیٰ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابوغسان یحییٰ بن کثیر نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے ابوحفص نے جن کا نام عمر بن علاء ہے اور جو عمرو بن علاء کے بھائی ہیں، بیان کیا، کہا کہ میں نے نافع سے سنا اور انہوں نے عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ایک لکڑی کا سہارا لے کر خطبہ دیا کرتے تھے۔ پھر جب منبر بن گیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم خطبہ کے لیے اس پر تشریف لے گئے۔ اس پر اس لکڑی نے باریک آواز سے رونا شروع کر دیا۔ آخر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس کے قریب تشریف لائے اور اپنا ہاتھ اس پر پھیرا اور عبدالحمید نے کہا کہ ہمیں عثمان بن عمر نے خبر دی، انہیں معاذ بن علاء نے خبر دی اور انہیں نافع نے اسی حدیث کی اور اس کی روایت ابوعاصم نے کی، ان سے ابورواد نے، ان سے نافع نے اور ان سے ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے اور ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے۔
Narrated Ibn `Umar: The Prophet used to deliver his sermons while standing beside a trunk of a datepalm. When he had the pulpit made, he used it instead. The trunk started crying and the Prophet went to it, rubbing his hand over it (to stop its crying).

Narrated Kulaib: I was told by the Rabiba (i.e. daughter of the wife of the Prophet) who, I think, was Zainab, that the Prophet (forbade the utensils (of wine called) Ad-Dubba, Al-Hantam, Al-Muqaiyar and Al-Muzaffat. I said to her, 'Tell me as to which tribe the Prophet belonged; was he from the tribe of Mudar?'' She replied, He belonged to the tribe of Mudar and was from the offspring of An-Nadr bin Kinana.

Those who were the best in the pre-lslamic period, are also the best in Islam if they comprehend religious knowledge.
