حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْسَ بِالطَّوِيلِ الْبَائِنِ وَلَا بِالْقَصِيرِ ، وَلَا بِالْأَبْيَضِ الْأَمْهَقِ وَلَيْسَ بِالْآدَمِ وَلَيْسَ بِالْجَعْدِ الْقَطَطِ وَلَا بِالسَّبْطِ بَعَثَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَى رَأْسِ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً ، فَأَقَامَ بِمَكَّةَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ وَبِالْمَدِينَةِ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ ، فَتَوَفَّاهُ اللَّهُ وَلَيْسَ فِي رَأْسِهِ وَلِحْيَتِهِ عِشْرُونَ شَعْرَةً بَيْضَاءَ .

ہم سے عبداللہ بن یوسف نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم کو مالک بن انس نے خبر دی، انہیں ربیعہ بن ابی عبدالرحمٰن نے اور انہوں نے انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا، آپ نے کہا کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نہ بہت لمبے تھے اور نہ چھوٹے قد کے، نہ بالکل سفید تھے اور نہ گندمی رنگ کے۔ نہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے بال بہت زیادہ گھونگھریالے تھے اور نہ بالکل سیدھے لٹکے ہوئے، اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کو چالیس سال کی عمر میں نبوت دی اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مکہ میں دس سال تک قیام کیا اور مدینہ میں دس سال تک قیام کیا۔ جب اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو وفات دی تو آپ کے سر اور داڑھی کے بیس بال بھی سفید نہیں تھے۔

Narrated Anas: Allah's Apostle was neither very tall nor short, neither absolutely white nor deep brown. His hair was neither curly nor lank. Allah sent him (as an Apostle) when he was forty years old. Afterwards he resided in Mecca for ten years and in Medina for ten more years. When Allah took him unto Him, there was scarcely twenty white hairs in his head and beard.

Narrated Kulaib: I was told by the Rabiba (i.e. daughter of the wife of the Prophet) who, I think, was Zainab, that the Prophet (forbade the utensils (of wine called) Ad-Dubba, Al-Hantam, Al-Muqaiyar and Al-Muzaffat. I said to her, 'Tell me as to which tribe the Prophet belonged; was he from the tribe of Mudar?'' She replied, He belonged to the tribe of Mudar and was from the offspring of An-Nadr bin Kinana.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, You see that the people are of different natures. Those who were the best in the pre-lslamic period, are also the best in Islam if they comprehend religious knowledge. You see that the best amongst the people in this respect (i.e. ambition of ruling) are those who hate it most.
