حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ نَحَرَ جَزُورًا أَوْ بَقَرَةً زَادَ مُعَاذٌ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَارِبٍ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ اشْتَرَى مِنِّي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعِيرًا بِوَقِيَّتَيْنِ وَدِرْهَمٍ أَوْ دِرْهَمَيْنِ فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ صِرَارًا أَمَرَ بِبَقَرَةٍ فَذُبِحَتْ فَأَكَلُوا مِنْهَا ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ آتِيَ الْمَسْجِدَ فَأُصَلِّيَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، وَوَزَنَ لِي ثَمَنَ الْبَعِيرِ .

ہم سے محمد بن سلام نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم کو وکیع نے خبر دی ‘ انہیں شعبہ نے ‘ انہیں محارب بن دثار نے اور انہیں جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہ   نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب مدینہ تشریف لائے ( غزوہ تبوک یا ذات الرقاع سے ) تو اونٹ یا گائے ذبح کی ( راوی کو شبہ ہے ) معاذ عنبری نے ( اپنی روایت میں ) کچھ زیادتی کے ساتھ کہا۔ ان سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے محارب بن دثار نے ‘ انہوں نے جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما سے سنا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے اونٹ خریدا تھا۔ دو اوقیہ اور ایک درہم یا ( راوی کو شبہ ہے کہ دو اوقیہ ) دو درہم میں۔ جب آپ مقام صرار پر پہنچے تو آپ نے حکم دیا اور گائے ذبح کی گئی اور لوگوں نے اس کا گوشت کھایا۔ پھر جب آپ مدینہ منورہ پہنچے تو مجھے حکم دیا کہ پہلے مسجد میں جا کر دو رکعت نماز پڑھوں ‘ اس کے بعد مجھے میرے اونٹ کی قیمت وزن کر کے عنایت فرمائی۔

Narrated Muharib bin Dithar: Jabir bin `Abdullah said, When Allah's Apostle arrived at Medina, he slaughtered a camel or a cow. Jabir added, The Prophet bought a camel from me for two Uqiyas (of gold) and one or two Dirhams. When he reached Sirar, he ordered that a cow be slaughtered and they ate its meat. When he arrived at Medina, he ordered me to go to the Mosque and offer two rak`at, and weighed (and gave) me the price of the camel.

Hadith 2782

Narrated `Abdullah bin Masud: I asked Allah's Apostle, O Allah's Apostle! What is the best deed? He replied, To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times. I asked, What is next in goodness? He replied, To be good and dutiful to your parents. I further asked, what is next in goodness? He replied, To participate in Jihad in Allah's Cause. I did not ask Allah's Apostle anymore and if I had asked him more, he would have told me more.

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Allah's Apostle said, There is no Hijra (i.e. migration) (from Mecca to Medina) after the Conquest (of Mecca), but Jihad and good intention remain; and if you are called (by the Muslim ruler) for fighting, go forth immediately.

Narrated `Aisha: (That she said), O Allah's Apostle! We consider Jihad as the best deed. Should we not fight in Allah's Cause? He said, The best Jihad (for women) is Hajj-Mabrur (i.e. Hajj which is done according to the Prophet's tradition and is accepted by Allah).

Hadith 2785

Narrated Abu Huraira: A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, Instruct me as to such a deed as equals Jihad (in reward). He replied, I do not find such a deed. Then he added, Can you, while the Muslim fighter is in the battle-field, enter your mosque to perform prayers without cease and fast and never break your fast? The man said, But who can do that? Abu- Huraira added, The Mujahid (i.e. Muslim fighter) is rewarded even for the footsteps of his horse while it wanders bout (for grazing) tied in a long rope.

Hadith 2786

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: Somebody asked, O Allah's Apostle! Who is the best among the people? Allah's Apostle replied A believer who strives his utmost in Allah's Cause with his life and property. They asked, Who is next? He replied, A believer who stays in one of the mountain paths worshipping Allah and leaving the people secure from his mischief.
